It never ceases to amaze me that ONLY the women are considered loose. Ummm...what about the men that sleep with anything resembling a pulse.

Sleeping around is sleeping around, plain and simple. There shouldn't be a double standard.

Well, this comment might be alittle late but here goes...I lived in Fort Hood for 2 years when my husband was stationed there. I came from a small town and was not used to the army life (my husband joined at age 34 and I was 41). I have never in my 41 years of life seen such garbage life styles. I am proud of my husband and love/ respect him and refused to participate in the activities these "wives" were doing. It was 2 miserable long years for me and not to mention, raising a teenage daughter in Killeen/Fort Hood was an experience I wished I could forget. I wouldnt try to raise a dog there. When my husband re-uped I told him to get me the hell out the hell hole I call "The Hood". Now, I live in Kentucky (OFF BASE..never again will I live on a post or will join any type of FRG). I just give them my contact number and tell them exactly why I dont participate in activities. That place (Hood)actually made me untrusting of people and taught me alot of personality disorders of the human race. I am happy here and currently going through my 2nd deployment. The 1st was when I was in Fort Hood and it was the longest year of my life. Since here in Kentucky, I am mentally adjusted better, time is going faster, and best of all, NO army spouse drama queens. My few close friends are civilian wives (with the exception of one military wife that I have learned to trust, but all the others are just casual acquintences. I am finally a happy, well balanced military wife.

Trust me, it just isn't service members that have a hard time finding a nice girl in Killeen. I grew up here and should have found a nice woman to marry when I went away to college. Stupid me though I didn't. I wanted to party and hang out at bars and strip clubs. Now don't get me wrong I have had a great time but now that am pushing 30 I want to settle down. It is not easy finding a non tainted woman between 25 and 33 in this town, now before some femi nazi goes off on me I know that they are out there I just said they are hard to find. It's not hard going out to the wild country or sidelinez or ernie's and finding some good lookinh girl to hang out with and hell most of the will sleep with you right away if thats what you want but finding one worthy to take home to mom.......that is the quandry!

One would think with a masters degree you could maybe find the CAPS LOCK KEY? If any of your post is true, I congratulate your wife and you. However, your claim of a masters is not ringing true.

well I've been here 10 years and its the same thing where ever you go. Whats worse is the loose army girls. Its funny watching them work or try to work the NCO's. Itd be a great reality show.

Never thought this issue would run as long as it has, whew!!!!! Hookers are going to be around as long as there are men running around with money to pay for them, I only meant that it get's old after awhile, seeing them running up and down the streets, getting picked up by men looking for them. Even with the current crack down going on here in Killeen, there are still girls and he/she's running around here, and yes as long as women want to run around and find men willing to pay them for sexual favors, they will be out there, even the married men seeking a 'cheap thrill' will be out there.
You people are getting off track on this subject, the question was about cutting back on hookers on the streets of Killeen and it's plain that no one has a answer to it, locking up everybody is not a cure.

when the cats away the mice will play , both husband and wife . Here is a stat that the Army wont talk about, divorce rates are 42% for soldiers that have been married for less than 3 years.

The national divorce rate for 2007 isn't much lower. How old was your information is what I want to know? That way I can compare it to national rates overall. Maybe after that I can get all picky and compare those rates to other professions. I can imagine other high stress professions also have a high divorce rate. I wonder what other factors went into the 43% figure? Generally speaking I'd also need to know how many people married less than 3 years divorce in the U.S. as well so I can narrow it down.
