Never heard of a doctor living in an apartment in Rancho Palos Verdes. Must be one of those noob immigrant wannabe doctors, they hand out medical licenses like candy these days.

I happen to know the 27 year old very well. I will be forever thankful for his watchful guard over my younger brother, who was addicted to Crystal Meth, for years. Why he surrendered to such barbaric thoughts is a mystery to me. He will suffer the ramifications of it for the rest of his life. May God speed.

If I were a doctor, I would not entertain the local hooligans...at my apartment, on a Monday. I have a feeling that the doctor/victim has a few skeletons in his closet. His alleged injuries did not prevent him from a vivid account of the crime... Danny will not see society until 2018.....at best.

"These two characters" will spend a long time in prison. But I have a connection to the 27 yr old and this was not "him", he didnt "need" to do this. He wasnt a "HAVE NOT" as some of you say. It was an unfortunate lapse in judgement by a guy who IS loved by MANY!!!

People make stupid mistakes sometimes. Dano is a great guy who made one of these mistakes. Don't crucify him, help him. Everyone who knows him knows that he is not a bad person. I hope he gets a lenient sentence because I know he will never do anything that stupid again. We're with you Dano.

YES DANO IS RETARDED FOR GETTING HIMSELF IN THIS SITUATION. HE IS ALWAYS AT THE WRONG PLACE AT THE WRONG TIME FOR SURE......BUT I DONT GET WHY THE CAR ALARM WENT OFF IF THEY ALREADY HAD THE KEYS.....I DONT FEEL BAD BECAUSE EVERYONE NEEDS TO LEARN A LESSON, BUT IT SUCKS BECAUSE I DO KNOW THAT HE IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE NICEST GUYS I HAVE EVER MET. WEIRD...I KNOW...

Bubbles: First it is a condo complex, not an apartment as the article stated. Second, he is not a "wannabe" doctor. He is indeed a physician who decided to continue his education even further to become a Cardiology Specialist. Even if he was a so-called "wannabe" does that make it ok for this to happen to him?
Perry: The Camry is his wife's car. I myself would be driving a Pinto if I had his medical school bills to pay off. And since he is now in his Cardiology fellowship, those bills are still going to continue to pile up. Was it "stupidity" for him to go after those thieves? Probably but it was also his gut reaction. I would have done the same.
Amos: No "skeletons" he was just trying to protect his property like anyone else would and has the right to. His injuries were not "alleged" as you put it. As a matter of fact, they were quite severe and he won't be working for a very long time. And this all happened as his wife watched helplessly.
I know all this because I work with him.
This Dano character may be a perfectly nice guy to those who know him. But he obviously has no regard for the lives of strangers. He made a terribly wrong decision that he will have to think about every single day that he sits in prison. If he is such a great guy, at what point while the doc was hanging onto the hood of HIS OWN car do you think that Dano thought better of the situation? At no point did that happen.

Who are these idiots defending "Dano" for his actions.
Ok, I'll give you the fact that the running down of this defenseless person was not premeditated. Dano made a mistake. But when caught, he does not give himself up and face the consequences of his actions, but instead continues to run and hide in the brush, and acting like the irresponsible punk thug he really is.

People have demons that are difficult to rid themselves of sometimes. Dano is no "punk thug." He was clearly not himself that day. He has struggled with his demons for a long time, and anyone who knows what I'm talking about, or has experienced it themselves, knows how difficult that situation can be and how you are sometimes not "yourself." This does not excuse his actions, but merely explains the state of mind that he was most likely in. Why does the other guy not have anyone here vouching for his character? The answer is because they are very different people. The other guy is a drain on society who has shown no desire to be anything different, while Dano simply made a mistake. A very serious, life changing mistake, but a mistake nonetheless. But Dano has friends who care about him and don't want him to be portrayed as a monster, because he is not one. He will serve time in prison, deservedly so, but he is NOT a bad person and we wish him the best of luck while he is away from us.
p.s. Realistic One, nobody is defending his actions, simply his character. Calling us "idiots" and him a "punk thug" clearly makes you look like the least intelligent one on here. If name calling is all you're good at, you should be on "Craigs List" in the "Rants and Raves" section. You would fit in great there.

All of you people who dont know Dano need to just keep quiet. People make mistakes and its not a mistake until its done. So asking "when did he think better of the situation?" He's thikning better of the situation right now in county! But Dano wouldnt have as many friends that care for him so much if he was a "punk thug". I am a pretty successful Mortgage broker and I will be here for Dano. And yes, Realistic One, you have no idea what your talking about. Your making an outside judgement. Think of your best friend making this same mistake and think about how you would feel. Its the same situation...and you might say "my best friend wouldnt do this". Well, that's what we thought also.

Oh, so it's now a condo complex? Or an apartment conversion? either way, this wannabe doctor, if he was a real doctor, would own his own single family home in RPV or Rolling Hills, not some apartment conversion. It seems that anybody can be called a doctor these days. BTW, what country is he from?

These guys are douche bags. Running someone over with a friggin car is NOT a "mistake". It's who this person is inside. Don't defend the defenseless. Yeah, I understand that even really bad people aren't really bad every waking moment. But this is attempted murder in my opinion and anything less than 20 years would be a joke.
