Timothy Butler, of Austin, Pa gets a slap on the wrist for Multiple Child rape.

Below are two news clip from the www.wfrm.net news archives. 04/26/06 Coudersport-based state police have charged an Austin man with various sexual offenses in connection to an incident allegedly taking place last July 24 in his home on Thorn Street. Timothy Butler, 45, was committed to the Potter County Jail Monday in lieu of $50,000 straight bail, after being arraigned before District Judge Annette Easton on charges of rape, sexual assault, statutory sexual assault, indecent exposure, corruption of minors and selling or furnishing alcoholic beverages to minors. Authorities allege Butler furnished his 15 year old female victim with alcohol, and when she became intoxicated, allegedly sexually assaulted her. 01/11/07 In Potter County Court action, 46 year old Timothy Butler of Austin was sentenced to two concurrent jail terms of 11-1/2 to 23-1/2 months for statutory sexual assault and indecent assault. Butler was also ordered to spend two years on probation, pay a $1,000 fine, pay monthly supervision and administrative fees, and perform 25 hours of community service. He committed the crimes in his home on July 24, 2005. The victims were two girls, aged 12 and 15 at the time. End of News clips I have spent, the better part of the last two years sending emails, writing letters and making calls, not only to other news organizations Pleading for help to bring this man to justice, asking for coverage of this story to educate people. All of my efforts, have failed. Not only did this child rapist walk away with a slap on the wrist for raping two little girls; Not only did the community that he lived in attempt to cover up the trust and blame the girls for their own rape by saying they were troublemakers; Not only did the man's own family staunchly defend him but Mainstream media personalities who claim to defend children from predators and news outlets who claim to bring these people to justice, such as Bill O'reilly, Dateline, MSNBC, CNN & the Rape Abuse and Incest National Network (RAINN) All refused to respond to my attempts to bring this matter to the publics attention. I began to believe that this man, whom I have known for as long as I can remember would walk away from what he had done without paying for the crimes he committed.

From what I can tell from formerly living in the area, the locals really love the criminal element in their midst, and will go to great lenghts to protect them. Kiddie diddlers are no exception.

Apparently people like this "person", John, Tim, Mike, and James Rigas (along with the rest of the Adelphia crooks) are not only tolerated but held in great regard by the locals.

Maybe we can call attention to scum like this and the people who tolerate such behavior.

Hi Rosey. I am sure that there is more to the story as well. If I know Timothy well enough, I would count on the fact that there is more too it. I'm not sure exactly what it is that you would like to know from me. My heart goes out to your daughter and family.
I want you to know that I did everything I could to make this case known, to counter the silence of the community and to have this man brought to justice.
I haven't figured out how or why but somehow this entire situation was quietly hushed and swept under a rug, justice was not served and this perverted child rapist will soon be back out on the streets to rape another girl be it weeks, months or maybe even years down the road.
I suppose the only bit of advice I could give to you, or anyone else who is not a brainwashed native of the area is; Get Away, as fast as you can!
There are communities similar to Austin all over the country, where this phedophile would have been sent to prison for the rest of his life for his crimes.. Where your children will be more safe, out of the Drug addictive, Alchoholic and simple minded mentality that permeates that community.
Most people who stay in that community go nowhere. Children do not learn responsibility, drugs and alchohol are considered rites of passage for the youth. Moral righteousness is preached from every street corner, while physical violence against woman occurs and is ignored by the community at large.
I was born and raised up there, I have family from the area. I know what goes on, I live through it and survived it, overcame it and I'm a stronger more successful woman for moving away and making something of my life.
If you would like to talk I think that would be okay. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Do you know of any other news outlets we can pursue to get the word out? This is an injustice and an outrage! Not only should the criminal have to pay, we should call into account the lousy judge who "sentenced" this pervert!

Apparently my theory that the locals love the criminal element was correct. The judge seems to want to cover this crime up for one of the locals.

To be honest, I have written and called the following;

CNN
MSNBC
Fox News
USA Today
The Potter Leader Enterprise
Bill O'reilly
Chris Hansen - with Dateline
RAINN - Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network
The Attorney General's Office - State of Pennsylvania
and several others..

I submitted copies of the court docket listing the charges, as well as a summary of what the charges were for and I really truly pleaded with all of these people to help bring this to light.

I knew from the moment he was charged that he would either walk, or would get a slap on the wrist.

That man is a sociopath, and is extreemly adept at swaying and influencing people around him. I knew that the community would attempt to keep everything quiet, because they are simply like that in that area.. They would rather pretend that nothing happened and go about life as usual rather than confront the problem and have to examine their own lives and actions..

I know for fact, the older girl who was a very rebelious child, her great grandfather was trying very hard to raise her right, but she flat out fought him-literally in some instances, I saw it with my own eyes. As far as her mother, she abandoned her when she was just a baby. What would she know and now why would she even care-SHE ABANDONED HER. This girl rebelled against her own father and step mother, they did everything they could-she was out of control. This girl lied, manipulated and used many people including family and friends to get what she wanted. She got it then tried to ruin a mans life. Tim is not innocent as he should know even if a young girl "sticks" it in his face, he should be man and sane enough to turn it down. However, if the older girl took a lie detector, I guarantee she would fail it!!!! So anyone that would stick up for her is a LIAR!!!

Tim is a sick pedophile.. The girl and any behavioral problems she may have are inconsequential.. Here was a 45, 46 year old man that raped a child.. a child.. a child who is not of age to give consent. Then as reported in the news a second girl also came forward with similar claims.

So you can be angry at the girl all you want. Under the law she was raped. She will now have more issues as a result of what he put her through. He is a sick pedophile and should have been locked up in prison for the rest of his life.

Also.. if you want to talk about sick and screwed up in the head.. Let's have a conversation about the legal system in Potter County. A man rapes a child, and goes to county jail for a year and a half.. Where was the long prison sentence? He has a criminal record and has had run in's with the law before. Where was the justice in this case? Also, what message does his situation and the literal slap on the wrist he received, send to everyone else in that area.. That it is okay to rape children because the legal system will slap you on the wrist.. That plying children with alcohol and then raping them is okay.. I think Potter County has enough problems related to alcohol abuse and drug use as it is.. Some aspects of Potter County are no different than inner city philly.. Except that instead of minority gangs and thugs, you have backwards hick hillbilly drunks, stoned out of their gourds wanting to fight each other.. Then you have the communities Herd mentality.. Tim rapes a child and the community pretends it didn't happen.. or like you yourself did, try and pass the blame on the child.. Well, I don't care if that little girl was a demon from hell, She was a minor, under the legal age of consent and she was raped by a man in his 40's.

There is no way to justify that and your attempt to do so, not only belittles rape victims everywhere but shows the type of character you have as a human being.

i know this is an old thread, but i just found it

remember, there were 2 victims. even if they were bad girls did they deserve what happened?

he should have done 5 years, at least, for what he did.

makes me wonder who his attorney was? if i get in trouble maybe i should call this guy?!?

why would the District Prosecutor go for such a light sentence, people do more time for DUI????

His attorney was some guy named Fink I believe. Based out of Port. The guy isn't even an attorney anymore from what I understand. He has legal troubles of his own.

I know Accountable... I don't understand it myself. All I do know is, the community in Austin, basically came to his defense... stated that the girls are troublemakers and they deserved what they got and tried to place the blame on the girls for what happened too them.

This case sat for months and months with the District Attorneys office.. I called several times regarding it, asking why they hadn't arrested tim yet.. All of the sudden about a week or so later they arrested him and put him up on 50K bail.. His family paid it and he got out.. a couple months later I called again and pressed them regarding why he hasn't been taken to court yet.. They refused to discuss it with me...

The truth is, they don't care. The girls weren't good little Christians and the community demonizes them for that.. They claim to be God's Country and God Fearing Christians, but really all they are, are backwards knuckle-dragging bigotted hics... I feel ashamed that my bloodlines come from Austin, Wharton and Keating Summit.. I hope they move out of the stone age up there soon before more kids are abused and neglected.

OH the TRUTH BEING THEY DON'T CARE because they were good little christian girls is a load a shit. It's POTTER SEXUAL ABUSE LAWS in general. I know 2 little girls age 4 and 5 at the time we were sexual assualted numerous times and the guy got the same sentence, 2 terms of 11 1/2 to 23 1/2 and gets to serve consecutively. FAIR? I think not. So dont go running your mouth without knowing the facts of the law in general.. it took Stanley Low more than a year to be sentenced.. it wasnt about who the girls were.

You obviously didn't actually read what I wrote, or otherwise you didn't comprehend what I was saying. I AGREE WITH YOU! THAT IS THE POINT!
READ BEFORE YOU SHOOT OFF YOUR MOUTH!!!!!!!!!!

Now, Thanks for taking your time to respond. I KNOW it wasn't about the girls and who they were. BUT the community MADE it about them, as their way of DEALING with what happened!
The COMMUNITY as I pointed out, is just as responsible for what happened to those girls as HE was for raping them.

I'm sorry for what happened to you. I really am. If I didn't care, I would have let this story slip into nothingness, because that is what the COMMUNITY wants in the first place.

I keep harping on this, over and over because I hope that eventually, people there will get it through their THICK Born Again HEADS, that enough is enough.. I hope that eventually, they will put their foot down and speak out against men like TIM, when they do these horrible things to kids.

So, please re-read what I wrote.. You may find that we both agree on the same things, feel the same way about the situation.. We just word it differently. If not, Fine.. I really could give a crap what you or anyone else thinks.. My concern is justice for those girls and giving a voice to the other children in that area that are being abused right not!

Potter County is a safe haven for child molestors! This has been the norm for many many many years! But they are protected by the same scum that harbor them. If they go to jail., their loved ones lose their dependance of their welfare or SSI check!

What a typical Potter County male reply! I don't agree with what this man did, by ANY means. But I am SURE that you are by far not perfect by any means! Violence is NOT the answer asshole!

The better idea....give him and all like him their own island, complete with all they need to live - animals, bows and arrows, nails, hammers, etc.....so that they can meet their basic needs. Then they will be of no bother to any more children (oh, and don't forget about the priests who like the little boys), or you, and they will not be able to procreate to create more of themselves, or anything else. They are treated humainely and won't bother you.

PPL tend to forget, ppl like Tim Butler learn this crap from somewhere, and were usually raped themselves as children. Who defended them then? Did you want to kill him then??? The only answer is to END THE CYCLE and get these children help ASAP!!!

The community did not just make these girls out to be what they made them out to be....the community also played THEIR part in making these girls what they are!

People there REALLY need to open their minds and get up to the times, instead of treating females as work horses and less thans....

Self fulfilling prophecy...if you tell people they will be something, treat them as such they often turn into it. Women in Potter County all seem to be mere harlots, who can now work AND raise the kids AND pay the bills, you know EVERYTHING. If they don't, they are condemned. Women, in Potter county are still seen as beneath...beneath men and beneath them under sheets. If they speak up, they are dismissed and treated as though they lie and exaggerate. I know, I liveD it...still live with its effects.

I was raped at 13 in Potter county, by a man who ironically had the first name of Tim. I was his 3rd rape to my knowledge. I didn't call the police. I did not want to have to tell my story over and over again, and, be accused of being loose or any of that garbage the court system puts victims of rape through.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Gemini

Mercury will backtrack through your finances over the next few weeks, which isn't a very seasonal thought if you're already well aware that you've overspent this month. Be prepared to do some juggling or to seek expert advice if you're worried about how you're going to cope. You may be kept busy handling inheritance, tax or insurance matters, preparing investment analysis, and allocating funds for the repayment or collection of debts.
