My heart, thoughts and prayers are with their families right now.

My heart, thoughts and prayers are also with the families, as I have a son in the Navy on deployment to the Gulf. God Bless all them and keep them safe until they all return home.

Please reassure me that you made ABSOLUTELY SURE that the families were notified before you announced their squadron number. This morning my wife and children saw this on the news before I even knew about it and I am in a command that deploys there as well. Imagine their shock and horror if I were deployed there right now with that command and they were at the breakfast table getting ready for school.

The NAVY has rigid procedures in place to personally notify families of personal loss and to minimize their pain and suffering. I just hope that those mechanisms were given ample time to reach those poor families before your newscast did!

Please tell me that you checked and DOUBLE checked with the PAO and were CERTAIN that these families were notified properly before your broadcast.

RIP HS-7!! You will be missed!
