PROCESS YOUR OWN DEER
|

3 People have been eating deer for over a century. When is the last time a hunter died of lead poisoning? Besides, if you actually take the time to chew your food, your teeth usually provide a good indicator if there are any small bits of lead remaining in the meat. PP, find a story worth raising the alarm about.. |

3 Can we get the Government "Experts" away from the Venison, and onto real problems like "Death from Nut Allergies" or some other "Critical" issue. Heck...Toxic shock from Tampon use is statisticaly more deadly than "Lead Dust! We need a "New" Government Directorate.....Plug Patrol Agency |

1 The 'I've eaten it for 50 years' arguement doesn't hold water. Have you ever been tested for lead? Do you know what the symptoms are? |

The one thing that has been kept secret about this whole thing is that the processors are being paid BY THE POUND by the DNR! No incentive to trim very carefully, especially the hamburger trimmings. Maximum pounds=maximum profits. Change this policy, and the problem will go away.

1 I am a proud member of PETA. You are a part of the ignorant conservative ME ME ME crowd that only thinks of themselves. You are so selfish it is sickening. |

Good job, Bob!
Shells are cheap. It takes one shell to kill. A good hunter practices good shot selection. From the other comments, it appears that the commentators have got lead on the brain. |

1 Why would you want to kill an innocent animal? I bet you don't eat what you kill. That is a shame and you should feel guilty about that. |

Thats all it ever takes me. One shot per deer that I shoot. One was even square between the eyes at about 75 yards. Gun control is nothing more than controlling your breathing, aiming and gently squeezing the trigger. Then you process your own deer and clean, clean, clean and then clean it again. 1 BTW better to hit them with a bullet than with a car. Road kill is normally wasted, bullet killed is consumed. |
