Brian Anthony Tapp never should have been released from prison in the first place.

Pedophiles cannot be rehabiltated- it's been proven over and over!

Keep these criminals behind bars or, if they MUST be released, chemically castrate them. Our children deserve protection.

I don't have a better solution, but chemical casturation rarely if ever works, which is why it is illegal in most states.

Pedophilla is about control, not sex. If they cannot use their sex organs, the pedophile will simply violate the child in another way.

You are correct though. Overwhelming evidence proves that pedophiles cannot be "cured."

Not only are they unable to be "cured" or rehabilitated, it is a PROVEN fact that as time goes on, the violence of their crimes increase. They don't start out killing their victims, it graduates to that point. Have you ever heard of the Megan Law? That young girl was kidnapped, raped and murdered by a previous sex offender that was her neighbor! He was a REPEAT sex offender but had not killed before, therefore he was out on the streets (unbeknown to her, her parents and neighbors). It is because of Megan and what happened to her that the law was passed to make sex offenders register where they live and make that list available to the public. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megan 's_Law Had her parents known what kind of a monster lived in their neighborhood, perhaps that beautiful little girl would be alive today. LOCK THEM UP!!!

Just read about the proposed federal law "Jessica Lunsford Act"....interesting...

Among the key provisions of the law are a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years in prison and lifetime electronic monitoring of adults convicted of lewd or lascivious acts against a victim less than 12 years old. In Florida, sexual battery or rape of a child less than twelve years old is a capital felony, punishable only by death or life imprisonment with no chance of parole.

I think we should build a gated comminity for them all to live and let them molest each other.

Illinois needs a serious overhaul of its sex offender policies.

Not only did Brian Tapp never get violated for failing to register properly, the Illinios sex offender website STILL has him listed as in jail in southern illinois, even though he was paroled six years ago.

That's right Uncle Earl, "he" is gone from our town, how many more are there? And are we aware of where they all are?

Go to the Illiois Sex Offender Website and put in Braidwood and it tell you. It has their pictures, their addresses and what their offense was. I think we have about 5 or 6.

i print their pics off the website and tape them to the wall. that way my kids get to know their faces very well and know what they are. we need to talk to our kids about these "people" even at a young age. i started doing this after we found out about tapp. he lived way to close for my comfort and i have 3 kids i am responsible to educate and protect.

It's sad that we as parents have to do things like that to protect our children- but I did the same thing with Tapp in particular.
Apparently this family did not do a background check on him before they hired him to work in their home. I thought that I read in the original news story about this that he was working at a constuction site across the street from her house and she stayed home sick and he noticed and went over there and broke in. This story says the family hired him......

I know about the Ill. registry Ladybug2 thanks! Isn't it horrible that we must teach our innocent children about these things because of sick monsters like these! I also worry about the ones who go unregistered, so besides showing our children the photos of ones we are aware of, we also need to teach them basic safety measures in general. That yes, there are all kinds of sick people in the world who would like nothing better than to hurt you!

This rapist was released from prison on March 4, after serving eight years for raping a child. On March 30 he committed rape AND murder. When does society learn? Perhaps Kari is right, make them all live together in a gated community and molest eachother. http://www.courant.com/news/local/nb/hc-homei...

You're not talking about Tapp in this comment...he's not the one who's actions created Megan's Law. I've been following this story from the beginning and it amazes me on how the reporter's stories vary. The first story said he was hired by the victim's family. Now it's reported that he was working across the street at a neighbor's home...I'm not defending this guy or his alleged actions...but what's the truth? I'm not saying Tapp is innocent...but sometimes innocent people get convicted of crimes. Perhaps a reporter should visit Tapp in jail and get his version. I guess we'll all just have to wait for the trial.

I happen to know Brian Tapp as a father, brother, son and husband to his family. There are a lot of inconsistencies in the stories, as I have also been following them closely.
That family DID know of Brian's background. They conveniently didn't mention the man owed Brian more than $9000 and Brian had filed a civil suit against him that week prior to all of the "allegations".
I understand a parent's concern when it comes to "sex offenders', however there is usually more to the story than you might think. Just wish that people would not jump the judgement gun so fast. I understand that Brian has not done anything to prove himself dangerous since he was convicted over 10 years ago.
I agree that we need to see what occurs at the trial....remember the key word in this is ALLEGED.
By the way the girl is 17 years old not 13, another one of the inconsistencies.
Please save your judgements for someone that has proven to be a repeat offender and dangerous.
Brian would just like to start his life over at some point.
Remember he has paid his dues for those previous convictions and was visiting counseling weekly.
