They need to be charged. They need to show the kids it is no joke and no one is laughing. They need to be punished severely to stop this kind of nonsense. And make them pay for the monetary costs that have mounded up in this investigation.

They also need to pay for the cost of cleaning up the bathroom of the grafiti they left in there.

Without a doubt they need to be held accountable to the fullest extent the law allows, kids these days have no action accountability thanks to the law makers and the removal of parental discipline! As part of their punishment, they should be made to go around all the Naperville/Aurora schools and clean the bathrooms top to bottom. Don't forget to let the parents pick up the tab for the cleaning supplies too.

These girls need to be charged as adults, and named publically. If their parents have not taught their girls that all actions have consequences, the the school and the judicial system needs to teach them. They also should be required to clean up damage with a toothbrush if that is required.

Wow, four great opinions so far! I agree 100%. Too many teens doing stupid things because their parents don't teach them right from wrong, and the legal system doesn't punish them. These girls need to earn their GED in juvenile detention, no high school needs their kind.

I think that perhaps the parents should have the opportunity to punish their kids. The legal system is used far to often when parents are the ones who should punish the children. Or do you want a society that is filled with nothing but children with police records. The parents most likely did not teach their children to do stupid things but this is what some kids do and they are taught from their poor choices to make better choices in the future....

maybe, but if it were my kid, I think I would let him/her take the full brunt of their actions and deal with the legal system just to prove to them that there are consequences even after they get out into the 'real world' and that I will not always be there to 'bail them out' when they get in a jam. they need to learn to be responsible someitme and if it doesn't happen now when they do soemthing like this, then they will end up in more trouble in a few years
