11 yrs ago, I was also on Prozac. My head also stayed a little foggy. When I STOPPED taking them, it took about a week or wk and half, I completely went ballistic on my boss. It was so bad that to this day I can only remember bits and pieces of it. The incident fades in an out. Needless to say, I lost a job of 9 yrs due to this. Before the meds, I was a quiet easy going person. Doctor's who prescribe these meds should be required to take them for 3 months, then go cold turkey. Let them see and feel what they are doing to the brains of their patients.
At least you got off it. Those withdrawal reactions you had are usualy called a symptom of the "disease" needing more psychiatric drug "treatment" thats how people get stuck on this stuff for life. Then pharma-psych gets lifetime payments from there health insurance. I like that doctor training idea.

James Holmes was seeing a psychiatrist.

His psychiatrist, Lynne Fenton, a professor at CU's medical school and the director of student mental health services has alot of explianing to do.

Name a condition then blame it. Thats the status quo.

Psychotic reaction to Rx mind drugs ?

Blame schizophrenia,. Watch them do it.

I took Prozac when I was 16 suffering from bulimia the dr prescribed me the highest dose and I hated how it made me feel even more depressed. A person in my family just recently stopped taking it also after 20+ years and they withdrew from it for at least 8 weeks. So kinda agree antidepressants are very bad and doctors want to shove it down your throat without addressing the real issue. Did they come out and say he was under treatment?

Yes

The psychiatric drug warnings say "call your doctor" if you have suicidal thoughts or actions.

Not "sent notebook in mail" , follow directions people.

More detail in drawings than stick figures would also help in "a" manifesto, ooops ment confession/slam dunk evidence.

The whole mental health system needs an overhaul.
AIDS,cancer, diabetes, alzehimers and diabetes get so much attention and funding yet mental illness takes a greater toll on the individual, the family, the community and society and we continue to do very little to help those with mental medical conditions.

Sounds like another partisan professional pyschobabbling PAC-rat porker, wanting us to give him more of our wealth, with our without our permission or stealth, for OUR mental health.

Ok so what do you recommend? Is there a better option. Is it the anti depressants or the person? Obviously these people were put on medication due to psychological issues so how can you blame it on medicine alone.
of course there are better options! go do some research!

OMFG thank you! I didn't think I could get a bigger laugh than you're first "post pardon" error, but this definitely tops it ROFL. Let me get this straight, you're texting while driving, and you're calling ME stupid? All the while assuming that because I simply called you out on a hilarious typo, that I must be on Holmes' side? Is there ANY logic in your brain whatsoever?

The shrink supposedly treating the shooter had their own problems several years ago. This muddies the water even more.

http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/07/29/13...

So what I see now is an incompetent to stand trial motion to keep this out of the courtroom FOREVER where where facts and witnesses can be challenged and questioned.

Can anyone actually indentify the shooter in court? Can they say Holmes fired those weapons under oath? This is NOT a slam dunk case yet anyway.

From Depressed to Homicidal: The "Miracles" of Modern Pharmacy

Forensic psychiatrist Dr. Yolande Lucire and pharmacogeneticist Christopher Crotty found a significant association between genetics, metabolism of psychiatric drugs, and severe "homicidal akathisia." Akathisia is a medical term describing a condition of motor restlessness, marked by anxiety, agitation, jitteriness, or the sensation of "jumping out of one's skin" and the inability to sit quietly or sleep. Akathisia is a common side effect of neuroleptic drugs. Chronic sleeplessness itself can lead to a long list of physical and emotional symptoms.

It has long been known that many antidepressants cause akathisia, especially SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors), a category that includes Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, and other commonly prescribed antidepressants.

Some researchers and physicians believe that akathisia is the chief symptom that triggers impulsive violence in certain individuals who take antidepressant drugs. This is thought to be an extreme form of akathisia. Homicidal impulses and murderous behavior due to akathisia is now being called "homicidal akathisia."

The akathisia issue first came into public view shortly after Prozac entered the marketplace in the mid-1980s, when reports of murder and suicide among patients taking Prozac were publicized by the media. Since then, there have been thousands of reports of violent behavior by individuals taking antidepressant drugs. There is even a website devoted to collecting and indexing these reports in a sortable database. The site: http://ssristories.com/ lists more than 4,800 cases, from murder-suicides to road rage to school shootings.

LMAO, man you crack me up. I gotta admit though, I'm marvelling at how adept you are at typing with your head up your ass. While driving, no less. LOL, some people might even refer to that as psycho (or even "physcho" as you put it). But hey, I don't think you're psycho...with your lack of intellect I realize you're just too dim to know better. If you were any more stupid, we'd have to water you twice a week. Something tells me you couldn't pour water out of a boot if there was instructions on the heel.
I hope your officer hubby doesn't dump your ass...otherwise I predict a brass pole and body glitter in your future.

LOL, jealous? THAT'S what you come up with? Honestly, you are sounding more irrational and crazy with each post. Now you just sound like a 14 year old girl.

I'm not sure what I'm jealous of, your inability to grasp the English language or comprehend logic, your intellect (which is obviously rivalled only by garden tools), or your neurotic insecurities. Or hey, maybe I'm jealous of your brilliant and prestigious career as a secretary LMAO.

Now why don't you get back to your filing and photocopying....I can only imagine how taxing that must be on you.
