Woman sentenced for affair with 13-year-old

Give me a break! One year in Adams County jail on a work release program for sexual assault of a 13 year old? What would the sentence have been if this had been a man doing the same to a 13 year old girl? He'd never see the light of day again. I hate double standards, this sick woman should be tossed in jail and have the key thrown away.

I have to agree with that, double standards and favoritism for women has destroyed our society, if a man banged a 13 year old girl, he would be given a life sentence. a woman bangs a 13 year old boy and gets knocked up, work release..... amazing......

I 100% agree with jeff on this. Dose this women have to go on the sex offender list for the rest of her life. Will she not be allowed in some places to live because she is a sex offender. If I was her husband I would leave her because of this actions

If this would have happened to my son, I would fight for a much stronger sentence. A 13 year old child whether it be a boy or girl cannot consent to a sexual relationship. This was outright rape! What happened to the baby she was pregnant with? I just hope that if she went through with the pregnancy, DSS stepped in and put the child in a safe environment. What a sad situation that is happening more and more in our society.

Well, Luck the boy was with a women and not a priest, what she got was fair, the boy enjoyed. he see on tv every many times a day. when I was 14 thru 18 I too went with older women, some my friends mom, some from church, the boy knows sex so dont feel bad, I got all my experience from them. the only thing that sux is that everyone knows about the boy, i know how he feels.... sorry if offend anyone but I liked it..

This is totally wrong! What a double standard! She should be placed on the Sex Offenders list as a sexual predator and be given the same prison sentence that a 26 year old male would have been given if he would have done this to a 13 year old girl!!

This has nothing to do with favoritism towards women. Also, I have yet to hear of one man who has been given a life sentence for sexually assautling a 13 year old girl, or a 13 month old girl for that matter. Pay attention to what's really going on in this "patriarchal" society.

I kind of know this lady and her family, not on a personal level, but through other means. I can tell those of you wondering about the child that the child is healthy, happy and loved by the family completely! It is very unfortunate for both parties in this case, but the main innocent party, the innocent child brought into this world is well.

That's total hogwash. It has everything to to do with a double standard. I say give the female sexual predator the same sentence that a male predator would have been given-at least 5 years in a gritty state prison!

I agree that the punishment for this crime should be the same for both genders. You made the comment that a man would have received life in prison and that is simply not true. There are just as many, if not more, perverted men who receive the same lax sentences that this woman did.

I agree with you Onitram. When I was 13 years old I thought that having sex with an older woman would have been like heaven. At that time I was too shy to do anything about it, but I wouldn't have minded at all. In fact, it might have given me some useful experience. Of course all boys physically mature at different rates, but most teenage boys are as horny as can be.
I think it is more innocent between an older woman and younger man than the other way around.

Well, when they're 18 they can go out and find a 40 year old divorcee to teach them tricks. A 13 year old is still a child so people just need to keep their paws off. It really is not normal for adults to be attracted to children.

I agree with Polly and thank you Taylor for the stats. I never said life in prison, but as you can see from the stats that were provided, those sentences are woefully inadequate in punishing predators that prey on children. I think we should have mandatory minimums similar to what we have for drug crimes. Rape a child and get ten years in state prison, no ifs, ands, or buts -no pun intended…

The truth of the storey was not written or reported by Paul Woodward. Not only did Mrs. Vasquez receive 1 yr jail but she is was placed on intensive probation for 10 yrs to life. Her destiny is in her hands and if she violates she will be sent to the Department of Corrections for in indeterminate amount of time. Mrs. Vasquez has no prior record and the sentence imposed was the same sentence that would have been imposed for a man. We want to trust the media but we cant. The media only provides enough information to stir the public up and puts a bad taste in your mouth regarding our justice system.

Me when I was young going with an older women was ok,, But an older man with a young girl is very wrong, its very bad for the girl that have her future ahead her education,then jail is the answer, if was my son is ok I would be happy he got some a.. , but my daughter no.

Exactly. A boy gets laid by an older woman and he's a hero for his fellow teens, a girl does it and she's labeled a slutbag and has to live with that title. I'm 16 and a feminist and what's up with that double standard. Their either both sluts or both heros. Also a woman and a man sex offender should receive the same sentence. By allowing a woman to receive special treatment undermines the whole equality fight. Favoritism for any gender isn't right

Personally I think that this is something that should be up to the boy because at that age boys want it and this is where they should get it. not sleeping with girls thier own age because as it is we don't need teen pregnancy to get any worse.

Sad but I suspect that some adults are atrracted to kids and some kids to adults, the other way around. They are born or made to be, different from the norm group, which views such things with great suspicien. Girls are much more likely to do this with men than boys are with women.
