Beautiful memories from Cherokee. My mother used to tell me the tales when Spring Lake Park used to be a swimming hole when she was growing up in the 40's. When I was growing up in Aurelia, we would drive to Cherokee, get some food from Hy-Vee's deli and take it to Spring Lake Park and just enjoy the day. Then, in the winter, we would ice-skate there and take with us our hot cocoa and gingersnap cookies!! Thanks for the wonderful photos (and memories!!)
