What would be a blesing to the Augusta Community?

I am wondering what the community could do this winter to help the needy in this community IDEAS PLEASE ?

shoot them. they is all doin drugs. thats whys theys so dang needy in the dirst place.

Get together with local businesses. Maybe have a huge toy drive for the kids, have a truck load of food, Have a free day of fun for the families.Have
a place, like at the school gym set up like a store, so the parents can actually choose what toy or toys they would like for their Child/Children.
And to keep the little ones busy, you could have a few crafts rooms set up for them to make heartfelt gifts for their parents as well. Maybe have Lunch room open for them to play a few games with prizes maybe organize a little party to go along with it. With holiday music, maybe some holiday type snacks.
I am just throwing out suggestions. There are many people in Augusta that are struggling this year. I have friends who were bringing home over $800.00 per week, and now they are having to work anywhere they can for $7.25 an hour...lucky to get 20 hours a week. Everyone I know is having to struggle. Going fom feeling secure to wodering what next week check will be like? Will they have enough money to buy groceries this week? Crying because all they could give their child this year was a cake for their birthday. This time f year wll bring a lot of depression, more so now than the past years statistics. Some Cannot afford to get gas heat. Children need things and they cannot get it for them. Many are suffering from some type of physical and/or a mental disability. Some chldren are more depressed now.A child shouldnt have to worry if they will have food, or knowing they will be cold at night.Cryng because some Parents have had to tell their Children the truth about Santa. Not to shatter their hopes,dreams,or imaginations,but Parents know they can not and will not have the extra money to get their children anything for Christmas. I know it truly doesnt matter as long as your together, healthy, roof, and food, but some dont have all of these, and it would be so nice if somethng good happened to them for once. I dont have much, but if there is anything I can do to help?=)

That is an awesome idea let me pass this around and see what I can do . I know somebody who would do this and make it awesome . If we got all the church's involved and the school , and businesses it could and would be wonderful!! No reason why Santa Claus cant come to town !!

Will this be for all of Augusta Addresses, or just for the Village of Augusta???? The reason I ask is because I have a dear friend who is a single mother of 4, and she is severely disabled. Sheonly draws 600 a month in disability, and the Childrens father does not pay child support. She does not draw any checks for the children. This woman has gone into her own freezer, and cupboords to feed other families, when she really cannt afford to do, but she is just that compassionate. She tol me yeterda thy moe than lke wll not hve thanksgiving which her youngest daughters birthday falls on thanksgiving this year. And she is worried her children will have no christmas either.
IF they do decide to do thi, please answer my question when ou find out. I wish I couold help her, but I just cannot. If you could please leave a number or an email so you can le me know the time place and phone number to have he rgistered if she is allowe to be. than you.

No it would be for everyone and I know someone who may be able to help your friend . I have to speak with her ,and make sure its ok to post her name on here. But if anyone can help her she can, she is working on Thanksgiving Day meals now and trying to put together something for Christmas to help needy families. So I will get back to you ASAP.

My friend wll kill me once she finds out, she is very prideful. So I will have to figure out how to let her know without her being upset with me. The last time someone said something to herabout it she freaked, but she is such a good person.

What school does the kids got to ? So I can get her the help she needs and person to contact for help . I also understand pride , and its ok we have ways around that.

Also the sex and ages of the child would be helpful NO NAMES !!

They were going to Bracken district, but because she doesnt like how things run and the ciriculium,not to mention everything lese that goes on there, So now their Aunt home-schools them at her home. She picks them up daily and takes them to her home where she also homeschools her own children. I can email you a contact number. If you could leave an email address maybe? If you cannot help, please know that that is OK! We will find some way of helping her. Its just that myself and my husband lost our jobs last year, and we only have our unemployeement. When you add up all of our bills and groceries, well you know.. it can be rough. Our children are adults now, and we dont have grandchildren yet.
If I could do something for her God knows I would. I pray often to ge her help and strength to get thru the day, even hours at times.
Anyway, just knowhat you donthave to feel obligaed to help her. I am going to her hme to drop off some food becuase I know he is at her sisters having dinner. Iwill await your email ma'am or sir.

I know who you are talking about and she is one of the most deserving people I have ever known! She always thinks of everyone else and puts herself last. Someone I know who does a lot for the community is trying to organize a toy drive , food drive . I am sure she would welcome any help she can get. I know she wants to do a community food drive in town , where people can drop off food to help fill the food bank. Her goal is to fill a truck so look for that coming soon.

That augusta wasnt doing anythin??? When will we know? I know of a family, I blieve we may be speaking of the same one tina, but she needs help in a desperate way!!
