Augusta Mayor salary is about $42,000 year
with $6,000 travel expense.

City Planer Kip Davis salary is $36,000 with $6,000 travel expense.

Police Chief salary unknown.

when I was hired for the City of Augusta, I was given a salary of $18,500 per year. After a year, the expense account of $6,000 was given to me by the Augusta City Council. So, although $36,000 a year sounds nice, it's quite a bit off from my regular salary of about $25,000 a year. It's all public knowledge; not quite sure where the figures you have came from but they are not accurate.

Mayor salary is a joke. He sure doesn't earn it. If he did his job is one thing..... not returning phone calls or keeping a promise is another.

If you want to talk about something it would help if you found out the truth it is public knowledge.The city of Augusta does not pay that kind of salary.Police Chief salary is not unknown.I am sure that everyone could do a better job at anything thing they do if they tried hard enough,Christ tells us to get the twinkle out of our eye before we try getting it out someone else.

Mayor may get it , kip may get it but the police dont get crap, for what they risk there life for.

We need to cut cost of operating the city.

The job of city planner would be one area

to save money. Hire someone that lives in Augusta. Kip Davis lives in McCrory and does not have his children in
Augusta school.

yea they say the city is going broke, well there is several people that are already hired by the city that could do his job. He does live in McCrory, and his kids do not go to school here, I think if they were gonna hire someone to do that job, wouldnt you think someone from here with kids in the school would be better. Dont care what his salary is I say I dont see nothing he has done, but ride around with the mayor, or act like he doing somethng. Its sad but true

Seems to me he gets more money than a police officer does.

OMG!!!! That's crazy. NO ONE should take their children out of McCrory school to put them in Augusta's. A person would have to be a moron to do that. Please think before you speak!

Look here cotton top,, why dont you take kip back over there? he's a good guy but business is business. what exactly is his job duties> i think all the cities managements is the mayor responsibilites.

Here is whats funny,, all you ppl are quick to down augusta but some of your teachers are from here and some went to school here,,

also you so quick to judge augusta but alot of ppl that work here are from mccrory,,

WHY Do We Need A City Planner? Thomas Huey didnt have one and the mayors job was part-time till he went full time. SO JUSTIFY THE JOB POSITION?

The salary for the chief of police is about $44000.00.

Come on up and spend a few days at City Hall and you can see for yourself what a city planner does. Try it yourself for a while and see if you have what it takes. Then you can get your name out there, approach the council about the job and start working on your plans. Give it a shot. If you feel you can do a better job, step up… You will have to tell people your real name though.

Also, as I’ve said before in another post; if you’re going to make a bold statement, put your name behind it. That’s what all the other people who are talked about on here do. And there’s a reason for that; they’re not scared to step up and put their names out there for what they believe in. It’s a really funny thing to see someone express their heartfelt opinions, really let someone have it and then sign a bogus name to the statement… If you really feel that strongly, it’s time for you to take a stand and get out and get involved with your community; quit relying on other people if you feel you can do better.

Augusta hasn't been spending thier money well I can say. What about that one thing that has two wheels and you stand up on it and ride it around? I havn't heard about it since the first week the city got it and they had put in the paper that it had been used during some unlawful incident. That thing was thousands of dollars and the town doesn't even have half a$s decent side walks to drive it down. I hope it was a donation or something.
