So the witnesses against this officer are a known violent drug dealer and a person linked to the murder of a State Trooper? And to testify they get their records expunged? Is this for real? DA Zappella must really have something against this cop to prosecute this case. Or are there others (WMPD) trying to cover themselves?

As a retired law enforcement officer of 30 years I can relate to some of the testimony that has been brought forward in this case. Officer's have stated that Mr. Missig's relationship with the former Chief
had them in fear of reporting any wrongdoing. This sentiment is very common within law enforcement. Know the pecking order and don't make waves. Although only a detective in rank testimony has stated that Mr. Missig was second only to the Chief
on the totem pole. I do however agree that there seems to be a lot of unsavory characters brought forward to testify against Mr. Missig.

If charges were dropped or immunity was given in lieu of testimony for the prosecution then a jury will have to weigh the credibility of those who have testified. These scenarios will always be present in our "win at all cost" justice system as it is today. If this prosecution is politically motivated as some seem to think, then it is up to the voters to send Mr. Zappala on his way up re-election. Funny thought, isn't it odd that when these same "drug dealers" testify against each other on behalf of the police and prosecutors, which is typical of how 90% of drug cases are brought forward not a thought is given as to their credibility, yet when the tables are turned we have the "how can we believe what they are saying, they are drug dealers" mentality. Just a thought.

the witnesses were prosecuted. the drug dealer spent 2 years in prison and the juvenile was sent to shuman. dont u read the papers. det.missig planted drugs on the drug dealer because he couldnt get him any other way. this detective should be behind bars he's the real criminal. missig and his chief, who also plead guilty to drug charges and went to jail, thought they were above the law. they fixed cases for friends and even stole guns off of a deceased wm officers wife and sold them on the street. thats why their also be sued by the deceased officers wife after her husbands guns start showing up at crime scenes.

What ever happened t innocent until proven guilty. In several of these comments I see that some have already convicted Mr. Missig. If he did the crime he should do the time. I think we should wait until the jury delivers a verdict before we pass judgement.
