Kaylee42 wrote: Sounds like a suicide to me also; he would have felt the vibrations in the rails. Darnit, if you're going to off yourself, could you not involve other people?! That poor engineer is going to feel awful for his whole life. I agree on both your points. Definitely a suicide--there's no way you don't feel a freight train coming. I feel for the engineer, I hope he gets the help he'll surely need.

Shut up. Even your father doesn't like your (c)rap music. I'm going to get some cranking speakers for my Harley and ride through your neighborhood in OBT and play country music and then ask you how you like it :::)))) Busta Bust wrote: <quoted text> He was listening to white trash music. really concerned citizen wrote: Sucide, that's all that was. I was thinking that too. If you google the address you will see that part of the road, Derby Lane in Auburndale goes right past the Auburndale Memorial Park Cemetery. Those tracks have plenty of train traffic from CSX and Amtrak so he had to know there was a distinct possiblility that a train might be coming. Hard to tell what he was listening too but my guess is the guy was depressed. If you are walking along the tracks and don't hear, see, or feel a train coming that is hard to believe.

Pachacutec wrote: Not quite an accurate headline; he didn't die because he didn't hear the train, he died because he was on the train tracks. After all, those trains don't just leap off the tracks and attack people. "This is not breaking news," you know, I was also wondering if perhaps this was a suicide and he didn't want to hear the train that hit him? The person I really feel sorry for in this incident is the train engineer; sounds like he tried so hard to warn the man and was unable to do anything more than that. Trains can't "stop on a dime," even when they're going slow. HAHA!
