News Email - Tax Day Here; Post Office Hours and Extension Info...

Please .... will someone inform me why the post office extends hours every single year ? The American public has a full year to prepare . Yet the U.S. Postal Service continues to treat these people like children who are late with their homework. The law is the law ... April 15th means April 15th. Here's a thought ... simply change the deadline to April 16 th !! Oh ! But that woudn't work ... Because then the U.S. Postal Service would offer extensions to April 17th !
Stop the madness ! Stop pandering to the lazy ! The law is the law. Set a date ... and stick to it ! Offering late hours simply offers incentive for lazy people to be more lazy. My gosh ! These people have a year to prepare .... and all are well aware of the April 15th deadline ! Wake up people !! It's time to stop treating you guys like children who are late with their homework. Be on time ... or pay the fine ! It's time to stop babying you guys ! Get with the program !

The American public can only start to prepare when the documents they need such as W2's, 1099's and housing and bank records become available. For me the last one arrived in mid February. That gives me just eight weeks. Since I also have an S-type corporation that needs to be coordinated with my own taxes and my life is in general probably a lot more complicatde than yours, maybe you can start to see the situation from other peoples view instead ot relying on your own myopic view.
