Why????

With all that's happening locally and nationally, why in the world do the topics of fat old gray women and skanks keep floating to the top of the board list like week -old turds? I am sick to death of those two particular threads and wish someone could figure out a way to get rid of them once and for all. There are a few other trashy pointless topics that seem to rise to the surface every once in a while as well, and they need to disappear too. Are we that shallow and misinformed that all we have to talk about is crap? It's a big world, folks. Let's talk about something worthwhile.

Thank you and NO Shit ! there is so much happening in the world and people can only talk crap about stupid shit with no real meaning. Actually I wonder if the post's are coming from kids or really uninformed and clueless people with nothing better to do than start a rumor.... Auburn please for heavens sake grow up.

It seems to me that some people around here only see the world that's right in front of them and have no idea that an the rest of the world goes on day by day, with or without them. Read the paper or watch the news and try to realize that there are more important things in life than skanks, rumors, college employees, small town cops, gold diggers, or whatever else people are calling each other names over. Yes, we all have the right to free speech, but obviously some people just don't have the "brain-to-mouth filter" required to use it sensibly. Why not use Topix for what it was intended: to rationally discuss things that affect our community and work together to make it better.

I don't understand it either. We moved here from a little smaller town and it was never this way. People have more important things to worry about than who does or doesn't do what with who. I don't want to be like the rest but since we moved here we get such a arrogant feel from the town. For some reason people come across to us at least like they think they are better than everyone else from the trailer trash on up. Where I came from we have such a sense of community that people didn't do this. If they had issues they went to them directly, if someone was struggling or having issues they figured out some way to help them. There are such bigger issues than whos sleeping with who, whos being a gold digger, why the police are stopping people, bitching about the schools but doing nothing about any of it. We worried about what to do about teen drinking, teen pregnancy, drugs... things that really mattered. I don't know how to get a change here though maybe things have just gone on this way too long. This could really be a great town if this were to end. Some how people just need to be brought together! I dont know its just my opinion.

Unfortunately, the people who post rumors and gossip about skanks and gold-diggers have absolutely nothing else to discuss. They wouldn't be able to discuss anything of any substance even if they wanted to. I think the gripes against the police department could very well be justified, but most of the rest of it is just dreck.

This town has always seemed arrogant and I have lived here all my life and feel out of place. I think the posts about the police dept are justified and if there was a way to start with correcting them, but who has the money to fight them? I know our family doesn't, we tried once. This town is just one big gossip column. I agree, who cares who sleeps with who and why do you have to post it? I think people are afraid to come out and be identified just because of the way the town is 'stuck up'. But like you, this is just my opinion.

get over yourself...I didn't use quotes around trailer trash because it has been used on this site so many times so I figured from the rest of my post you'd realize I was being sarcastic. I don't think I am better than anyone! I know exactly who and what I am and will never compare myself to anyone.

The Quotation marks were used by me, not you, to show that You were the one who said it. I have seen that phrase written but to not use it myself.

CSD...I'm with ya!!! Get rid of them....what a waste of time. It's like you can't start a serious topic without it being invaded by stupidity and pointless comments...that make NO SENSE ANYWAYS!!! I see the words "Falls City" or "fat old gray women and skanks" and end up just leaving them.....i see no point in trying to write about a topic that gets invaded by this nonsense... UGH!!!!!

What does "Auburn Bashing" have to do with the comment that started this thread? I thought we were trying to figure out why poeple here feel the need to air out the their dirty laundry (and everyone else's for that matter) in a public setting. If you want to take shots at our city, start a new thread. I'm sure you'll have plenty of followers jump on your band wagon.

me that you have a "thing" for people that have money. WHAT IS
YOUR problem. Most give large sums to this community. If you
got active in some the local organizations, you would find out
what really goes on. Why not put your energy to the test and give us all a chance to like you? I feel sorry for you.

I agree, but I still wanna know who the fat, old, grey gold-digger is. So, I'm shallow (but only regarding her!)
