City well represented

Full story: Carlsbad Current-Argus

In regards to the letter written on November 6, 2009, it states that Brad Day made a "stupid decision". When Brad decided to run for 4th Ward Councilman, I was able to engage him in conversation finding him to be intelligent, well-spoken and dedicated to his priorities.

I agree. Mr. Day is an outstanding council person. He has twice come out in the paper with the facts, once regarding the FF sham and now with the Civic Centre.

Mr. Anderson,

The lighting and sound system THAT used to be at the WGPAC was purchased with Capital Outlay funding, which Mr. Lutman was responsible for getting. The money went to Eddy County, and Mr. Lutman had a say in what was purchased with the money.

In recent months and up to about 18 months, the equipment Eddy County purchased was deeded over to the NMSU-CArlsbad in segments. This equipment is controlled and used by the Media Group. This group I am not familar with, but I believe Guy Lutman is heavily involved with, if does not run it himself.

So in a nut shell, NMSU has given Mr. Lutman power and control of such equipment and Mr. Lutman has permission to use that equipment for the promotion of the arts and filming industry within EDDY County.

Mr. Lutman upon leaving his job as manager of the WGPAC has decided and been given permission from NMSU to pull out all lighting and sound system from the WGPAC, what he is doing with it, where he is putting it, I don't know.

It is a shame, because when he first took the job at WGPAC there wasn't a good lighting or sound system, so he used the money from the Capital Outlay funding to buy the equipment the WGPAC needed. Of course, he had to do this or he couldn't bring in any type of music group or production.

I personally wish the College and the city could have worked out a deal over the lights and sound system. But the College evidently felt it necessary to remove the lighting and sound system. I have to wonder if the equipment is just going to sit in a warehouse until Mr. Lutman finds another building the equipment can be used in.

This whole thing was a screw up from the beginning starting at the County offices down to the College. With Mr. Lutman in the middle of it all.

Daily Horoscope for January 4

Leo

Even though you usually pride yourself on being the strong silent type, love has a way of unlocking your tongue. The words coming out of your mouth may be familiar, but your sense of timing makes all the difference right now. Keep in mind that you never know how a risky gesture will work out, although you can always hope for the best. When in doubt, take the more cautious path.
