I know it's summer and kids have to have some freedom, but do they have to spend all the spare time at the minit mart. I am speaking in particular of a group of boys from town that seem to be there every single day, several times a day. They are loud and obnoxious and think they are too cute, but some of us in the community are not amused. They sit there in their baggy ass pants thinking they look too cool for thier own good when what they are is a nuisance to the store. They have been asked to leave repeatedly and some of them have been banned by the local police from entering the store because they steal and start more crap that the mennonite horses leave behind(At least they clean up after themselves). They are rude to their elders and scare and intimidate the younger children.Just yesterday, my son walked to the store to buy a pizza and they gave him a hard time as he tried to get past them on the sidewalk. He came home scared half to death They smoke and dip and spit and brazenly ask adults to buy them cigarettes that they are not old enough to buy themselves. I think the oldest looks no more than 16.Is there no way to get these kids to go home? For heavens sake's where is their mama? How do you feel about these young hoodlums hanging on the property? Please keep your comments clean and to the point. I may be taking your comments and suggestions to the next city council meeting to see if anything can be done to stop these kind of intimidation from going on in our town.

As they said in the old days, take em behind the store and bend them over your knee. Banning them probably isn't going to help. And I can promise you if they were to do that to my child, go to jail or not I'd be hurt some kids. IF it's who I'm thinking of there mothers and fathers either don't care or are in jail. But as I've been known to do, my facts aren't always straight, so I'll just say I'm not for sure about that.

I dont think any of the kids have the last name of Piper. And if you are one of their parents and TPT agrees to meet you, then they will finally have some supervision from social services and foster care and they can watch as mama is hauled off to jail.

Then be a parent and take care of your kids. Instead of trying to be a badass toward those that are tired of putting up with them try directing some of it into DISCIPLIN. I dont blame you for not wanting someone to "take them behind the store" but maybe YOU should. Your kids were not even identifide as being involved so maybe YOU KNOW something about your kids behavior that needs correcting.

Tina you probably wouldn't hurt a fly, tell someone off, maybe. And I feel the same way you do, don't talk shit about my kids, everyone does. However, no one is talking shit, they are just merely saying that if you can't or won't disciplin your children, then we will. I believe that this whole thread began over a mother, just like you, who was attempting to protect her child, which was involved in an altercation with one of your children, if they were even there. My guess is, though, that your one of those mothers who doesn't care, you bring your child to Auburn where they may have friends and family, drop them off and leave them all day to do whatever they please. So like the man said. stop trying to be a badass and read the jist of the thread before you try to be all protective. And as far as meeting you by the flag pole after school, I'm not that childish, and since I am a very large, in shape male, you probably couldn't even come close to hurting me.

They have got it right. Tina how just as you said before if someone were to even attempt to hurt your children you would go off. How do you think the mothers of the children feel when their children come home crying because for one their child was trying to mind their own buisness and go in the minit mart to take care of what they intended to take care of, and some want to be bully is trying to scare the child which is most likely smaller than they are? if you care anything about your children you should definately speak w/ them about their behavior because this world is filled w/ cruel people and if the right person comes along your children may be harmed possibly even dead. Like any mother i would hate for that to happen.

Why not send a letter to the Minit Mart home office on Morgantown Road. I am sure the gangstas and bullies will be discouraged from bullying on Minit Mart property. It should be simple to find out whose children are loitering and bullying, I would go to great lengths to try and talk to the parents. If they are as unreasonable as Ms. Piper, take a police officer with you. No one deserves to be harassed or bullied in this country, especially in a small town like Auburn.

Personally, I have been very involved in this matter and know a great deal about what is going with this situation. As much as I would like to think this website would get the community involved enough to do something about these kids.. it won't happen. I have witnessed employees at the Minit Mart ask these kids to leave the premisis many of times which later leads to failure and frustration for the employees that have to deal with them. First of all 4 of the boys are banned from the parking lot anyways by the Logan County Sherrifs department for starting a fight with a 40 year old man in the parking lot for no reason other than he looked at them wrong. No matter how many times they are asked to leave, they always come back. Heck, Ive even seen Scott ask them to leave and they still come back. As for the parents of these kids, they are just as bad, if not worse than thier children. No offense Panther, but Id like to live to see the day when someone took a police officer to Mitzi Poor's house to complain about her kids. All hell would break loose. As much as I would like to see something done for the sake of my own children, these kids will never learn unless someone gives them a dose of thier own medicine.

Thank you Concerned Citizen, for your comment on this thread. You have stated the situation and the result of employee and police intervention exactly as it happens. I too have seen this same scene played out over and over again and am so frustrated by the lack of options the employees of Minit Mart have to keep this kind of stuff from happening in that store. Now that school is out, if you watch, they will begin gathering about 3:15 at the store parking lot and employees will have to take the time away from customers to shoo them away from the parking lot like a bunch of stray dogs. The store managers do a good job of not letting ANY of the kids hang around inside the store by trying to enforce a 15 minute rule...if your not going to make a purchase and just plan to hang around and be loud and be seen then you are politely asked to leave and I cant recall any time that I have been there that any of the "in store" kids have given them a problem...it's just the ones in the parking lot that shouldnt be there to begin with because they have already been asked numerous times by the local police and the store management to get off of store property.Maybe if the citizens are more aware of what is going on in the parking lot with these children, they will help monitor the situation and let employees or management know if there are problems occuring with the kids that are mentioned. Some day, they will come up against someone that is just a tad bigger than they are...most of them are just middle schoolers or just going into high school and they will get their ass stomped before they ever know what hit them.

You are right whatever. The parents do need an ass stomping. Instead of monitoring thier children, they are just dumping them off in town so they dont have to deal with them. It's really a shame but it's true. It would be different if these kids had any type of manners but they don't. And damnifiknow, you are also right. I have seen the employees and management of the store try and control the problem but the kids dont listen.

I really hate to chime in, but I went to school with the parents of these children. You're expecting too much if you think they are going to do anything.

I knew the Gregory boys when they were kids. They were really happy little guys. It sucks something fierce that they haven't been given direction.

How will this end up? Probably in the headlines when they hurt someone or someone hurts them. Just another sad case of people being able to reproduce, but unable, or unwilling to be a parent. I hate to sound like a softie, but actually, I don't blame the kids. At least not yet.

I saw one of the Gregory boys, Tyler, I think was his name , in the store with his mother today. At least he had some parental supervision. I think the manager let him stay.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Virgo

Mercury is turning retrograde at just the right time, because it's telling you to consider the validity of your long-term aims and aspirations. If they stand about as much chance of seeing the light of day as you do of winning the Lottery, then you need to streamline them or even abandon them and start again. So think about what you want from life and how you're going to get it. Children and romance may be quite erratic during this phase.
