When I Lived in Friant it was called the o'neals phone co,i believe. On of the owners of the co. gave me a cutting horse named Cricket I was about 11 years old or so. that was the best horse I ever had. across from the house was an orange grove 5 acres we farmed for some time. that farm had some land with it so that is where i kept the horse thay gave me.I have many good memories from growing up in Friant.The only crime we had was drinking at to early of an age. I would love to talk to someone in Friant. I see it has become a nice city . My first school (1st.grade) was a little 1 room school at the foot of table mountain upon the madera side.It was still there in 1963.I started to school at 5 cause they neede 1 more kid to qualify for a second teacher.1 of the older boys killed a rattle snake in our out door toilet.at this time we lived on the flat just above Madera canal,they had set up a tent city for workers on the dam.The dam workers and their co.built the first school
