Stupid rednecks.......it's people like you that are messing up northern Michigan. Get off your high horse and realize that the year is 2007 not 1950.

True. I forgot how "stuck in the past" Oscoda and Tawas are. That's why I moved away.

Well, I guess you're the quite the man about town now aren't you? I would have to agree that there are many things here that need to change but unaware people are everywhere. I mean, look at you; you think everyone who lives here is a redneck and backwards. I beg to differ but if it keeps you happy keep on thinking those wonderful thoughts. Just think, you never have to visit us again! Gotta go.... the cows are calling and my old man is in need of a yellow page for his journey to the john. YE HAWW GET "ER DONE!

i'm from tawas and i have no problem with the fact that they come here to play softball but there is a problem with the way they all act once the game is over and the partying begins it's really quite disgusting no different the straight men and women that have sex in parking lots or are very loud and distirbing to our town it's a true shame though that someone took it upon themselves to deal with a situation it was wrong to do that to her and i agree with the fact that they should appoligize and give her a refund i'm sorry that happened to you in our town but we are small and old fashion they should just cancel these tournaments since the majority here in town don't welcome them with open arms

I do not believe that most of them dont welcome us with open arms, last september when i was there, every store or restaurant my friends and I went to. the store clerk or the owner would ask us if we were here for the tournamen, obviously we would say yes and they would say how excited they were that we were down and that some of them actually were going to come out and either watch the games with us or drink afterwards. I believe it is a nice town and just like everytown they have there few jerks that, that give the town a bad name. to those jerks grow up.

I was raised in that wonderful small city and am proud to say that everywhere I go but it infuriates me that some people can't get over themselves. If you have a problem with someone else, I don't care what it's about, it gives you no right to act on it. If it weren't for activities that happen year round in Tawas that people come to and spend money, that city wouldn't be doing as well as it is. Shut the fuck up, stay in doors if you don't like it, and appreciate the business. RESPECT DIVERSITY...atleast if you can't contribute to it.

actually, I have a masters degree, spent lots of time in Germany, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and Australia.

Just tired of the drunk tirades, beating each others heads into the asphalt in front of the Tawas Bar, pinching the bums of my wife and her friends in the local restaurants, hatefull comments while having coffee and breakfast, staring and gawking while having a drink, and verbal attacks.

Womyn lining up to use the mens room, etc, etc, etc.

we were raised to respect others and to show respect for ourselves by being well behaved.

and that includes my lesbian sister...she respects herself and the lifestyle too much to behave this waq

By the way, normally the gay and Bi guys are the ones in the Holiday Inn that weekend, and lesbians are down at the Tawas Bar.

Just an FYI is all.

with Chums now closed, Brians Old Hotel long gone, there will be a mixed crowd in the bars this next September...that should be interesting.

Maybe the new owner of the Tawas Bar will make changes.
Oh, by the by...my masters degree is in Abnormal Psych from U of M...

jrjrjr--

A masters in abnormal psy? well, they do say that people pick professions based on what they know first hand.

You disgrace the name, honor and prestigious standing of the University of Michigan. If you had your opinion on this subject included with your admittance letter there is no way they would have had you. You have a degree in which you do not disserve. All you have on your wall is a piece of paper.

And another thing-- your attempt to "appear" civil minded and "unbiased" by brining up the fact that you are "educated" AND have a gay sister doesn't mean jack. What you SAY is of more value than who you know and what names you throw around (ie UofM). Thoughtful and respectful intellectuals know this.

Rachel,

Spelling is part of education. Don't care what or who you are brining up.

Oh, Blanche, tell us where the tearooms are. I'm sure you and Larry Craig know quite a bit about it.

But I didn't know the research subjects in master's programs also got graduate degrees....
Just wondering

A Master's degree in "Abnormal Psych" from U of M...as in Michigan? I wasn't aware that they had a specific program in that. How long ago was that?

Yes, pugman, spelling is a piece of education, but theory, practice, and understanding are of much greater value. I would gladly misspell all of my words and have greater meaning in what I say, then to have excellent grammar and talk out of my ass.

I have been coming to the tournament for almost 20 years. I can say that I have never seen anyone banging their head off the asphalt in front of the bar....and we really don't want your wives either...we have plenty of our own women to pinch...

I am also quite certain that the amount of money we pour into that town during the weekend goes a long, long way throughout the year....

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Scorpio

Your thoughts turn to the past today, putting you in a nostalgic mood. You're awash with sentimental tears as you dwell on days gone by or gaze at photos of people you'll never see again. However, try not to let this mood of reminiscence turn into a tendency to feel sorry for yourself and therefore to demand special treatment from others.
