Shrewsbury Dolphins Need Room, Appear Healthy and Normal

I just sent an email to the US Coast Guard regarding these mammals in the Shrewsbury River, stressing my concern for their safety during this busy holiday weekend. I realize some protective measures have been set up, however, yesterday (June 30th) I went to observe them from the coastline and there were many boaters surrounding them, peacefully of course, but still encircling them. The dolphins clearly have 2 calves that are traveling with them and I feel that this 4th of July weekend, tourists may not be so respectful of their presence in the Shrewsbury River. I did not see any of the proposed security members that are supposed to be protecting these creatures anywhere and people were definitely closer than 50 yards away....even a few people in kayaks! I am very concerned as an avid animal lover. Please let me know how these dolphins are going to be protected. Thank you, Jessica Hammell

Apparently the dolphins have moved further inland: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworl... . We are just glad that they still seem to be in good health. Here is the blog post we (National Aquarium in Baltimore) wrote on the issue: http://nationalaquarium.wordpress.co ...ns-everywhere/
