Andover, Derby to get deluxe Dillons

“Dillons is establishing the west side of the MarketPlace development and the YMCA is establishing the east”

Andover and Derby have landed the third and fourth Dillons Marketplace stores in the Wichita market.

Dillons officials unveiled plans Wednesday for a new 122,000-square-foot store on the southeast corner of Andover Road and U.S. 54, in Paul Jackson's development of the same name, MarketPlace.

The long-rumored announcement, first reported on Kansas.com, comes a day after the biggest YMCA in the area -- a 115,000-square-foot branch also in MarketPlace -- broke ground.

And in Derby, a 122,000-square-foot store will be built on the northeast corner of 71st and Rock Road, in the Derby Marketplace shopping center being developed by MRV, a Topeka group. Read more

Does this mean the small Dillon's on Buckner will close. I hope not as it serves many lower income people as well as the community in that area. I have heard NOTHING about a YMCA being built in Derby from the City Council. Looks like I need to make another call!

A Library has been approved to be built and the Derby Senior Center will expand into that bldg to some degree. Since I am a senior citizen, I see the vrey great need for expansion of the DSAC. We are already crowded for space. This is a wonderful resource for Derby and I am so very proud and happy we have this kind of facility for our seniors, the backbone of this town and this country!!

I am glad to see a Target store coming in. Would like to have a great restaurant, family style, good prices, good service come in here such as Town and Country Restaurant in Wichita. The owner feels it is very difficult to get good quality help. He maintains those high qualities where he is but is NOT a franchise.

Who wants to spend all day grocery shopping?
Not me!

I PREFER a regular size grocery store rather than a huge one that sells furniture.

I want to do my shopping and leave. Not waste my precious time to shop for kitchen appliances.

Dennis gets to eat the used kotex, that explains why his breath smells like dirty pu**y out side of eating his nasty wifes after she spends a day doing favors at the donkey show.
