My husband past away dec.14,2007. He was diagnosed april 18,2007 and was 55 years of age. I was wondering how long vatalanib has been around? I was wondering if it is a new experimental drug out or one that has been around for awhile? My prayers are with the Swazyes in hopes of the best outcome possible for them.

Let me send Patrick and his family my love and good wishes for them. This is a very hard time for them, dont read what papers say. Just take each step one day at a time. When my father died of pancreatic cancer in 1977, the cure rate for that disease was zero. Now I see from this new article that 25% of those with pancreatic cancer are living. That is excellent for Patrick Swayze. He looks good, is strong, and with a positive attitude, he might just be one of those 25% survivors! Let's all pray for him. He's a wonderful man, actor, dancer, and husband.

Any information that I can find about pancreatic cancer is profound in my life. I just found out that my dad has pancreatic cancer stage IV-B. If anyone out there has any info on clinical trials or anything please let me know. marci@kohlbek.com. resveratrol along with radiation could be the cure for pancreatic cancer. I hope Patrick and the teacher from Carnegie Mellon (Randy Pauch) have heard about resveratrol. God Bless!

See Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis or Johns Hopkins in Maryland for the clinical trials of Abraxane with Gemzar. My husband was just diagnosed and we are devastated. We're trying to be hopeful that he will make it through with the newer chemo agents. God Bless.-Donna
