Hopefully next year they will choose a more convenient time for everyone else to put the lights up. They do look wonderful though! i went through they had half the street open. minor inconvenice for a smile later

I also was happy to see the lights. It made me think back to when shopping down Mercer Street was a thrill. G.C.Murphys had the candy counter, toys was downstairs. Leggetts was there. But most of all the "WOOLWINES" BEST HOTDOGS AND COLA. it was beside Jimmies restaurant. Yes, the lights does put me in the Christmas mood.It think it was a great thing for Princeton to do for all the people that still love this area.

The hot dogs from Woolwines were great. So were the pepperoni rolls from Loyds bakery.

Oh my goodness, the bakery was the greatest. I would go in there and just buy a cup of icing. The pies and cakes was the BEST. Boy, do I ever miss that place at holidays. No one i know can make the desserts taste that anymore. Yes this nis changing the subject from the originial, but it does bring up GOOD OLD MEMORIES. I still love Princeton(home).ps mooneys, finks, and pizza inn.

Mooneys was also a good place, the food wasn't that great, but we sure had a good time on the lot.

Too bad none of those businesses are around anymore. It would be nice to have smaller, mom and pop restaurants (unlike ubiquitous corporate chains)along the main drag. I still don't understand why there isn't even a donut shop around here.

Yes,Mooneys is a place to remember. My 1st wreck was there. I was driving my parents new car(1 week old) and hit the back of a cadillac, looking at a guy called Chicken. No damage to either car. the lady I hit laughed when I told her i was looking at the guys. We need to let the town council know what memories they have brought back by just putting up the lights on Mercer Street. Thanks to all of the people that came up with the idea again.

Chicken was a friend of mine. Were you there when he streaked across the lot wearing only a pair of cowboy boots and a paper bag over his head? Now that was funny!
