When I was younger I attended several of the Halloween bashes in Athens - good times and it's harmless fun for the majority of the people who go! Some things shouldn't change believe it or not!

is mass public drunkenness among the young a sign of a decadent society?.........

or is it part of the irreducible core of human behavior that cannot and will not ever change?.........

Interesting point. It would also be interesting to know how many of those arrested are not affiliated with the university.

another case of those in power who rose to power enjoying the fruits of freedom but once they got in power they cut the vine off at the root and ruin the fruit for generations to come. In other words let the kids party like its 1999.

Don't the people of Athens have anything better to spend their hard earned tax dollars on than busting a bunch of college kids for having some fun????? I'd be pissed, hang the mayor and the chief of the gestapo!

Its called living. This is what happens in life, its been going on forever. See Rome and the other documented societies of the past. Actually we may be more tame than other societies, believe it or not.
