Judge it!
I just read on the news about the superintendent of Manning Community Schools, Roger Schmiedeskamp, Manning, Iowa. The articles stated that he posed nearly nude in a picture that was published in a calendar of other local men. The Rotary calendar of nearly nude men was to be sold for a local fundraiser.
This man and the local school board think he did nothing wrong!! Posing in a picture that is superimposed to look like a naked superintendant sitting in a classroom at a desk isn't wrong??
I find this very, very disturbing, to say the least. Aren't schools supposed to be a safe haven for children? I don't care if he actually has swimming trunks on under the desk or not. The problem is that it is INTENDED to imply nudity.
I don't find this funny at all and think their school board and the community should get rid of this guy at once.
What a loser!!

Even more disturbing is the fact that the former HS principal, the school board member's husband, and a former teacher are also featured in the calendar.
Other members of the community in leadership positions are also photographed almost nude, and the pictures intend for them to look nude by covering up strategic places. If you were a student being sexually abused, would you go to a teacher or adult working at the school when everybody appears nude in the calendar and they think it is not wrong? Geesh!! I think you're letting the media get to you a bit too much. You hear about bad parents and teachers on the news and so you ignore that this was intended to be humorous and for a good cause and lump these guys in with the rest.
I've also read he's done great work for the district and is highly respected by his peers and the board. These guys aren't perverts like your making them out to be. Why not concentrate your efforts on REAL problems with the education system. |

Sorry OKOK, you are wrong. All this superintendent knows how to do is spend money.
He is a REAL problem to the educational system. He doesn't know how to make teachers accountable for their responsibilities. He is irresponsible with our fiscal resources. He doesn't understand children's educational needs. He isn't EVEN A LICENSED TEACHER IN IOWA himself!!!! Look it up on the state licensing board website yourself! What child could respect teachers, principals, school board members that pose in risque photographs in a calendar? What kind of a role model is this?? There are some serious morals lacking around here. |
