Sure Dr. Goodwin. Your school is known for its drug dealers and students who brag that they spend half of the school day stoned.

Haha!! I worked with Paul for about 2 weeks at a car dealership.. wow.. always thought he was high... guess now I know for a fact he was!! And that school is like a little Colombia.. TONS of drugs running through it. Guess the principle is just way to blind to notice.

This is nothing.

A little weed and they think they've accomplished the "War on Drugs" -----

what a farce. Do they realize how much is out there???

Can u fathom the amount(s) that are making it to the streets????

Forget weed --- go after meth, heroin, murder, etc...weed is a waste of good taxpayer dollar efforts.

At least educate the youth! I completely agree with your comment, but we must get it out of the hands of those under 18.

Hey all check up on H.R.5842 and H.R 5843 especialy you pot heads, you will want to know about this at all expenses!

I'm shocked, students from my alma mater and my girl friends, were caught selling pot! OMG we never got caught when I was a kid, what is wrong with these kids these days? We took pride in what we did when we were kids. Our work meant something to us, and so did our reputation.

None of the information on any of these news reports are accurate. I know this for a fact. Paul is a good guy and the media is making him seem like some sort of huge dealer. How about you go after the real crime in America and stop wasting your time blowing storys up way out of proportion. Pot will always be around and the pot that the police found is going to other drug dealers that are just protected by the police. That some pot will circulate to the same kids that would have bought it from these kids. Cops are the biggest crooks out there.

So you would automaticaly put them into a penal system that is nearly impossable to bet out of, and risk increasing the odds of them being a habbituoal criminal likely escalting to other criminal behavior? While I agree the drug problem amogst youth can not be tolerated, I think that removing them from school to incarcerate them is a bad idea, as the education system withen our peanl system is seriously lacking the ability to educate these offenders. As for the fines you suggest, I wonder what you have in mind, an amount that would insure their debt in which you and I will have to at some point pick up, and possably support these youth for many more years then the offense calls for?
I do not recommend a suspension or expulsion from school, but rather recommend these students be enrolled in a summer school or other such activity that serves the same purpose, as well as be requested to do community service in which they should be place either with the American Red Cross, youth program, and or a drug rehabilitation center. I think that education is the propper tool to be used here at all expenses.
I am in no way condoning the childrens actions, but to punish blindly will only perpetuate the cycle, without end!

This topic is likely to do two things in the next 24hrs. Either it eill die off completely, or it will explode into comments about the legalazation of marijuana, and not that as to the topic title!
So with that in mind, I will say, should any of my children be reading this, I will kick your ass so hard you wont even think of sitting down, and you will be quite happy when the cops are called for your stupid ass!
Yes I whole heartedly think that marijuana should be legal for adults, but for a person under 18, I dont think so, and even have some reservations about having a doctor prescribe a child any marijuana, but if it is truly a viable option in care of a terminal illness or severe injury, then I think it should be closely monitored by an adult outside of the family, as well as by the childs parent.
These actions of these kids today, have no clue what they are getting into, and possably doing to their bodies, and minds. As proven by the inabilty to think "hey you know, maybe selling or buying a sack at school is a bad idea!" Children dont think much about consequences, and neither did any of us as children, we were invincable and the best liars, and if you said no to either one or noth, chances are you are lying now, in which case move along, for the rest of you real, and possably normal people left, I am not making excuses for their actions, but ask that you keep in mind, first they are children who dont think.
Second, what would you consider a harsh punishment that is age and action appropriate, you may find yourself thinking back to your own childhood! Third, enforce the desisions that have been made and move on.
While I would think making an example of them is the desire to many, the long term risks, and effects could outway to harsh a penalty.

Parents need to be also held accountable for propper education of their children also, and failure to do so ought to be punishable by the courts, and not nessecaraly with an imprisonment, but stiff financial forefitures, that would not be dismissed but will be active as a debt until paid. Maybe doing so would force a few parents to stop being their friend and be a parent. Pay attention to your children, if you dont, dont expect society to be happy about housing them, and optioning out of having a TV set supplied to them!

I'm looking for this forum to disintegrate into a religious argument any time now.Fed-up will be along shortly. You seem to be her-it's target of the week.

I dont mind being target of the weak! Oh, I mean week! I dont know what I did other then prove her wrong at every turn, and shed a little light on the topic that no one else seemed to be. Anyways back to this topic, I hope it dont go to religion, it isnt about god or not it is about kids doing stupid things, and the need for more accountability at home in my opinion!

Not even funny! I had a stalker a couple years ago, she used a entire roll of film taking pics of me as I walked accross the room to give a speech. I fear that she may have enlarged the pics and hung them over bed! So the idea of another stalker is abit disturbing, but I guess everyone has to have an admire here and there, why cant she pick on someone of her own beliefs and intellect? As for my "stalk" I dont think my wife is up for sharing!

Chris Robinson.........Hate to sound crude here. But I rather doubt she has EVER been on anyone's stalk. Can't imagine any man wanting her. Perhaps this is part of her problem!!
