Yes this was sad. Its a damn shame these Methadone clinics, I see them as government sponsored drug houses. Instead of the Pittsburgh and Philly drug lords getting the heroin dividends, Harrisburg is reaping the proffit from tax payer money.
Our Legislature need to do some revamping of our drug laws. Heres a suggestion: similar to the 3 stikes your out rule. You get caught being on illegal drugs once its 5 yrs in prison and the rest of your life on parole, a second offense death by overdose of the hard drug of your choice. No more drug problem.
If you get caught selling drugs even once, death. No more drug problem.

(i don't wish this apon you) But I cannot wait till you find out one of your kids is doing or selling drugs. Might be a huge wake up call for your ignorant ass. And yes i got caught years ago, and got a second chance. i recovered and i am now living a better life than anyone stuck in that town! and what happens when you are older and break your back and are addicted to drugs yourself?? no more drug problem huh?

I find it reprehensible that 'ex-drug addict' is using this unfortunate event to expouse or rationalize his/her own drug addiction and abuse. This is not the forum to do this. Once a drug addict, you are always a drug addict. Drug addicts relapse at some point. We place a heavy premium on treatment and punishment, yet our Drug Demand Reduction efforts are misplaced.

How do I know this? 6 years of Narcotics enforcement experience. So, I feel I have the qualification to speak on it. I was also a certified DUI instructor and taught law enforcement officer on many subjects that deal with drug identification, epidemiology, chemistry, interdiction, dynamic entry and so on. All the 'get the bad guy stuff'.

My feeling is the same one I have stated about DUIs. If you are caught driving under the influence (and this applies to Alcohol and other drugs) you should lose your license permanently. If you kill someone when you are either impaired or intoxicated, you should receive life in prison or the death penalty. You can rationalize this any way you want, but when you make the choice to put a substance into your body, and then you make the choice to drive - you accept the risk that you are going to kill someone. It is implied.

Again, sound harsh? Go talk to a parent that lost a child because some junkie is pinging on meth and decides they need to take a ride somewhere and kills their little girl or boy in their own front yard.

Try to argue that one. Typically the addict or DUI offender lawyers up and then gets off. They can go on to repeat the offense. They have no conscience or they are so screwed up that they actually believe that they can beat their addiction. This has been scientifically and psychologically proven to be wrong. Don't believe me? Go read materials at SAMSAH, NCADI, PADUI, or the DOJ.

It comes down to choices. If you used drugs, or got a DUI..YOU did it. No one forced you to. So you have to live with it. So don't pontificate on why any of us who do make the right choices should tolerate your indiscretions or stupid, malicious and selfish behavior. How can you rationalize the death of innocent people while holding a drink in one hand and dope in the other.

Poor. Very Poor.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Capricorn

A certain person is strong-willed with the Full Moon in your emotional house of others. It's a lunar eclipse too, so this could lead to some ructions in which everyone becomes firmly entrenched in their own opinions and refuses to acknowledge anyone else's point of view. Get the arguments out of the way early on, so you can then concentrate on having a really enjoyable New Year's Eve.
