you don't want Gene... he's lazy and self-serving, not what you want in a judge. He believes in taking shortcuts and has no problem hurting and/or hindering people to make his life easier.

Example: He charges people "up front" for defending them. Once the money is paid, he settles for whatever plea is offered without the informed consent of the defendants -- I've seen him do this firsthand. He tells his clients that the prosecutors have too tight of a case and that the best bet would be to take the plea even though he never put any effort into actually researching, fact-gathering, and fighting for his clients. He lies to their faces and makes all kinds of promises before they pay, such as hiring private detectives and digging as deep as he can to "make sure justice is done" but once he's been paid, there are no investigators, no communication with the client, nothing. Then he takes a plea and convinces the client that they really have to accept it.

Basically, Gene Linehan makes a farce of our legal system.

To the person who who complained about gene as an attorney i know that there is no point in 70% of cases to go to trail thats bullshit that other lawyers will pull and you end up way behind in the end settling the up front fee he represents murders goverment officals celeberties and other high profile people he doesnt have time for samll cases and if he does it cost money dumb ass

I too know gene linehan. not very well at all but well enough and i know that he is really good at what he does. first off Anderson cares about the older peole like in the 60's and above but he could give a shitless about the 18-29 year olds!!! i have had my share of problems with the Judge and in know!!! Gene is a very understanding person and will help who ever he can!!! Second off gene may have made mistakes before but he is experienced where as Anderson is not that experienced. sure he has been in the judge shit for a little while but thats it!!!!!Gene is a very smart person who knows what he is doing and what he can do to make every thing ok!!!

John Anderson was born in Washburn, and lives in Washburn. He's honest. He's fair. And he has more experience as a judge than Mr. Linehan, because Mr. Linehan has never been a judge. Mr. Linehan claims to be someone who understands Bayfield County, yet, for the majority of his life he hasn't even resided in Bayfield more than a few months at a time. As for the 'gentleman' above, who says he's had his dealings with Judge Anderson and he knows how bad he is - really? A criminal who has a problem with a judge - hard to imagine, isn't it. Let's set the record straight -I've known John Anderson for 20 years, I've seen him working as an attorney and as a judge, and I've been juror at trials he's overseen. His job is to make sure trials are fair, and to sentence according to the law. He does that. He's polite. He's honest. You're well within your rights to vote for whoever you want, but don't slander Judge Anderson.

My experience with Gene Linehan was a year ago last fall when he was looking to rent a small down town Ashland office that we own. He showed up at the appointed time with his two assistants and talked with them about how they might set up the office, including the "War Room". He wanted to pay six months rent in advance. I gave one of his assistants a simple lease to look over and arranged to talk on the phone after they pursued other rentals. When I talked to the assistant a few days later she said they would rent it, then I asked if they had looked over the lease and her response was; "Gene will not sign a lease, he does all his work 'up here' on a hand shake." We did not rent to him. I don't know what this says about his ability as a judge but I'm sure that Judge Judy would call us fools for not requiring a lease.

Anderson is a fool......He lets criminals such as non child support paying mothers walk free EVEN after HE signs a warrant stating jail time. Of course than, he comes to Iron River town mwwting and "brags" he is saving us money by not filling the jail...MEANWHILE the KIDS are SUFFERING....Andersons time is up, he can find a new career that benefits the rich elderly snobs of Washburn..P.S. this is NOT slander and if so I invite that bum to sue me....

Gene Linehan knows Bayfield County??? Please...Jonh Anderson has lived his whole life here and praticed as an attorney privately and served the public well as a circuit court Judge.
My question is for Mr. Linehan----what is up with all these tax problems and tax leins in the past??? In the day and age with foreclousures at a very high rate don't you think you might have a clouded view??? Mr Anderson is a young and talented Judge...,.he is a GREAT asset to our county as a person and as a servant to us the people.....I think he is just getting started in the good things he can do for our county...VOTE JOHN ANDERSON FOR JUDGE!!!!!

I have dealt with all three of these people and I had issues with two of them.

Haukass practices his normal everyday misconduct (as he has in the past and always will). If you are someone that he likes you have no problem. If he dont like you or likes someone on the other side better, you are in TROUBLE!!!!!
Gene linehan is a criminal defense attorney.... Lets face it you cant be a good defense attorney and have good morals. After all, he got people off murder and all sorts of felony charges, and you cant say he believed all of them were innocent. But he did it anyway for the money. We dont want a judge with these bad habits.
Gene linehan took my case and said this is no problem! He also said bad things about his friend (haukass). He said, "I'll walk all over this guy." and "I almost feel bad for him." Linehan took my few thousand dollars and dumped on me. He got me a worse plea agreement than what I was origianly offered!!! He would not even come up here to court, insted he would call and represent me over the phone. He also "conviently" charged an "up-front charge". this means no matter how long this takes or how long the trial, there would be no additional charges. Thats why after linehan was paid, haukass suddenly looked unbeatable and he urged me to take the plea bargain. I was never in trouble before and was scared. I took his advice, I wish I could go back, but Im also glad its over. It was one of the worst times of my life. I thank god for my family and friends who helped me thru.

Anderson was the judge. he is the one that saw the case and ordered the punishment.

If you are following the race you would see that haukass really wants to see his friend linehan win. Haukass preaches to the citizens of bayfield county every chance he can. Remember, before you take his opinion serious, this is the same bayfield D.A. that was charged with felony misconduct back in 2007.
The reason that haukass wants linehan in, is simply because he cant push judge Anderson around. He would much rather a close friend is judge so he has more say on each of the cases outcome.

MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS WILL BE VOTING ANDERSON THIS APRIL!!!!

I support Gene Linehan 100% i grew up with his sons and i know that he will be good for bayfield county he cares about youth doesn't just treat them like there nothing. I think that he will serve us well after these past six years. He is a smart man hes been a lawyer for 35 years he knows the ropes and will treat everyone fairly.I know for a fact that he won't be making snive and unorthadox remarks in the court room like our judge now. So i will be voting for Gene and i hope all of you do to.

RE:bayfield county taxpayer for one thing why do you have a job ask yourself that, do you go there for fun and enjoyement, doubtful.
So when you talk about all of these felons and murderers he "got people off" well lets see you go to your job and just do something backwards the wrong way, thats not going to happen. He does his job because he's good at prooving peoples innocents, he doesn't have to believe them its part of his job to prove there innocent.

haukass and linehan will work together and do whatever they want. you better hope you are very close friends of the two of them or hope you have the money to buy their friendship if you ever set foot in the courtroom!!

I have kids too and none of my children would be homeless or live in a vehicle while im alive.

Well since i know his son personally unlike you i have a feeling you have no clue he's not 16 for one he didn't live in a vehicle for two and it was his choice cause he wanted to live up there.

Mr. Gary needs to get a job and take care of his own kids instead of whining that his ex wife won't pay child support.
