"According to witnesses, after the collision, the motorcyclist struck a vehicle waiting at a traffic light."

More great writing by the MCALL. From the above statement it appears there was an accident and then after that happened a motorcycle struck a vehicle waiting at a traffic light. What is wrong with these fools?

Oh man, I think you're kind of right. Re-reading the article I would now guess that there was a collision between the minivan and the cycle and then the cycle hit a third vehicle. Geez I'm confusded! If only the dooosh-bags at the MCALL could write in a clear manner!

I understood what they meant the first time I read it, maybe it was the weed from earlier, keeps the mind focused.

You have to take anything "reported" by the mcall with a grain of salt. A man I work with was nearby; I believe he said it appeared that the van was at fault (although that is up to the police to determine). When I first read the article it said it was an older Harley Davidson, now it has changed. According to what I have heard, the motorcyclist was in quite serious shape. I hope for the best, I hope he pulls through.

That's what I read also. That bein the case, I thought there was a good chance I know the person. Yamaha? Maybe. Hope whoever it was is gonna be alright.
Gotta try an get ABATE, and others to lobby for stiffer penalties for these blind folk.

I agree with stiffer penalties. My cousin was killed by an old bat making a left turn right in front of him - totally her fault. Doesn't bring him back, though.
Even if it is not somebody we know, it really breaks my heart to know that somebody's family member won't be home tonight.

I wish I could mount a laser cannon that instantly vaporizes any car that pulls out in front of me.

When you get that thing ready for production, lets talk. I personally know at least 75 people that would buy and use it.

Condolences to you on yer cousin. I also lost a few bros to cages. My brother is without a hip and pretty much lost any usefulness in his leg years ago, he was run down while waitin to turn into the Brass Rail in the turn lane. Been lookin to get to an ABATE meeting and see what we can stir up. somethin needs to be done about this, I pointed out elsewhere that the numbers have way surpassed the numbers for DUIs and that maybe this would be the next major item to target. Sooner or later that statement will sink into someones skull, if they hear it enough.

I would hope the message would sink in. I notice more courtesy (space) extended to me when I'm riding then I have in the past. I know that the most common accident for a bike and another vehicle is one where the vehicle makes a left in front of an oncoming bike. It'd be interesting to see the statistics - straight up with no slants - about the different accidents that occur. I realize that there are many that are just plain reckless stupidity on the bike rider's part (speeding, trick riding, etc.), but I bet it'd be interesting...

I hope he's doing better. The guy I work with (and saw it) was scared that he wouldn't. Glad to hear that he was wearing a helmet. God knows mine has saved my life.

I have not seen any updates on him. I know I will be very unpopular for this - but I feel helmets essential. They are in my household.

You are entitled to feel that way, and unless I'm just runnin around town I always carry one with me. I do not feel the government has any right to infringe upon that choice. Allowing them to choose for us can only lead to one thing........

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Libra

You're full of empathy and affection today, so it would be a shame not to spread it around. It's a marvellous day for a low-key get-together with some of the people you haven't seen during the past few days, because you'll enjoy having a good chat about what's been happening. Once your social duties are out of the way you'll love curling up on the sofa with a good book or a favourite film.
