Judged: 2 1 You know nothing about HIPAA then! No names have to be given to break HIPAA! Your friend should be fired!! |

Judged: 1 1 Your nurse friend is held to a higher standard of ethics than our general population idiot! All health care workers sign a confidentiality agreement and HIPAA agreement to keep ALL patients information confidential and private! Do you realize that this woman's family could bring a law suit against KDMC based on your post? And you're nurse friend could be personally held liable financially and criminally? and how is a nursing trying to help by leaking someone's private medical information? Get a clue! It could have been your personal information now couldn't it? Would you feel like you were being helped or victimized? Google HIPAA!!! Educate yourself!!! |

You signal handedly violated someone's medical privacy, potentially cost someone their job, financially devastated multiple families as it will financially further devastated an already struggling hospital which will lead to more lay offs and the raising cost of health care for all of us. You have negatively effected the reputation of all nurses and a hospital etc.... with your BIG mouth! Hope you are proud of yourself and sleep well tonight.
If something ever happens to you and you need medical care I hope that you get a nurse that cares not only about your physical and mental well being but also respects your right to privacy! But then again karma is a bitch! |

Could you be any more pathetic? Me thinks not. |

Judged: 1 Lol, It could have been me or anyone else for that matter. I'm sure anyone reading this would agree with me and not your stupidity! I will argue when I am right and admit when I'm wrong unlike you! I could take care of you some day or even a family member of yours (may already do) and I promise you that I will not gossip about you by violating your right to privacy or any other means. You will be well cared for physically and mentally regardless of your behavior, sex, race or financial means. That's the way we all deserve to be cared for by our healthcare systems. Now argue with that!!! |

Since you are too dumb to understand, let me give you, the idiot, an example: A bank teller comes home and tells her husband and a neighbor that someone just deposited one million dollars in their account. She never named a name, so no "confidentiality contract" had ever been breached you fool. Besides, nobody cares what you think and I'm pretty sure at rate you're going, you're going to go into cardiac arrest over all of these posts you've been responding to on topix....well....hopefully anyway.:) |
Let me help you since you don't know how to google http://chfs.ky.gov/dcbs/dcc/hipaa.htm Lmao! This is stress relieving for me to stand up for someone that I don't even know when they cant and defend them. Banks have nothing to do with HIPAA that would be the FDIC, idiot! And I'm sure your example is a violation of privacy! Sounds like you have some very unethical friends! HIPAA can be violated without names. I know you can read so click on that link and enlighten yourself about your own rights. Put those reading skills to good use for once. |

I'm sure it's porn or contains a virus. What this nurse didn't harm anyone. How do even know this person was telling the truth dummy? This is topix but that wouldn't matter to you because all you want to do is argue about nothing. Go get on your motorcycle and crash and die. The whole town will rejoice!:) |

Judged: 3 2 Don't answer those questions. I'm trying to make a point. No HIPAA violations were breached because first, we don't know to which hospital the patient was taken. And second, we don't know whether or not the ER nurse was even present when the patient entered the hospital. For all we know the ER nurse was at Kroger and witnessed the incident and is simply speaking as a bystander who just happens to work at an ER. No names were given either. All we know is that the victim was female. Chances are fifty/fifty it was going to be a male or a female. |

Judged: 2 Apparently you can't read! It was clearly stated that is was a female nurse that works at KDMC in the ER. And we live in a small community, it doesn't taking names to figure out who someone is duh! And yes it is a HIPAA violation to state someone's medical condition when it is coming from a health care worker even if a name was not given, a town, a place business where it happened, sex of the victim, hospital they were taken to, date of incident where all given. There is more detail here than you are seeing. the general population is not held to the same ethical standards as a nurse, duh! |
