One day a group of scientist got together and decided that humans had come a long way and no longer needed God. So they picked one scientist to go and tell God so.
The scientist walked up to God and said,“God we’ve decided that we no longer need you; we’re to the point that we can clone people and do many miraculous things, so why don’t You just go on and get lost.” God listened very patiently and kindly to the man. After the scientist was done talking, God said,“Very will, how about this? Let’s say we have a man-making contest.” To which the scientist replied,“Okay, great!” “But,“God added,“We’re going to do this just like I did back in the old days with Adam.” The scientist said,“Sure, no problem” and bent down and grabbed himself a handful of dirt. God looked at him and said,“No,no,no. You go get your own dirt” |

Tips for Life:
Give people more than they expect, and do so cheerfully. Don’t believe all you hear, spend all you have, or sleep all you’d like. Don’t say,“I love you,” unless you really mean it. When you say,“I’m sorry,” look the person in the eye. Be engaged at least six months before you get married. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt, but it’s the only way to live life completely. In disagreements, fight fair. No name-calling. Don’t judge people by their relatives. When someone asks you a question you don’t want to answer, smile and ask “Why do you want to know?” Call your mom. Say,“Bless you,” when you hear someone sneeze. Don’t let a little squabble damage a good friendship. When you realize you’ve make a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice. Marry someone you love to talk to. As you get older, conversation will be one of the principal elements of your relationship. Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer. Read more books, and watch less TV. In disagreements with loved ones, deal with the current situation. Don’t bring up the past. Never laugh at anyone’s dreams. People who don’t have dreams will never accomplish much. Never let your mouth get ahead of your head. Spend some time alone. Constant socializing can be draining. Open your mind to change, but don’t let new ideas dilute your principles. Live an honorable life. When you get older, you’ll be glad you did. When you don’t know what to do, pray, you’ll be surprised at how much it will help you decide. A loving atmosphere in your home is important. It will also help keep your children from needing therapy. Judge your success by what you had to give up to get it. Remember that not getting what you want may be the best thing that never happened to you. Never interrupt when you are being flattered. Mind your own business. Trust in God, but lock your car. |

Center of the Bible
The pictures are awesome....but wait until you read the words. Q: What is the shortest chapter in the Bible? A: Psalms 117 Q: What is the longest chapter in the Bible? A: Psalms 119 Q: Which chapter is in the center of the Bible? A: Psalms 118 Fact: There are 594 chapters before Psalms 118 Fact: There are 594 chapters after Psalms 118 Add these numbers up and you get 1188. Q: What is the center verse in the Bible? A: Psalms 118:8 Q: Does this verse say something significant about God's perfect will for our lives? The next time someone says they would like to find God's perfect will for their lives and that they want to be in the center of His will, just send them to the center of His Word! Psalms 118:8 "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man." Now isn't that odd how this worked out (or was God in the center of it)? |

The "W" in Christmas
Each December, I vowed to make Christmas a calm and peaceful experience. I had cut back on nonessential obligations - extensive card writing, endless baking, decorating, and even overspending...Yet still, I found myself exhausted, unable to appreciate the precious family moments, and of course, the true meaning of Christmas. My son, Nicholas, was in kindergarten that year. It was an exciting season for a six year old. For weeks, he'd been memorizing songs for his school’s Winter Pageant. I didn't have the heart to tell him I'd be working the night of the production, unwilling to miss his shining moment, I spoke with his Teacher, she assured me there'd be a dress rehearsal the morning of the presentation. All parents unable to attend that evening were welcome to come then. Fortunately, Nicholas seemed happy with the compromise. So, the morning of the dress rehearsal, I filed in ten minutes early, found a spot on the cafeteria floor and sat down. Around the room I saw several other parents quietly scampering to their seats. As I waited, the students were led into the room. Each class, accompanied by their teacher, sat cross-legged on the floor. Then, each group, one by one, rose to perform their song. Because the public school system had long stopped referring to the holiday as "Christmas," I didn't expect anything other than fun, commercial entertainment songs of reindeer, Santa Claus, snowflakes and good cheer. So, when my son's class rose to sing, "Christmas Love," I was slightly taken aback by its bold title. Nicholas was aglow, as were all of his classmates, adorned in fuzzy mittens, red sweaters, and bright snowcaps upon their heads. Those in the front row- center stage - held up large letters, one by one, to spell out the title of the song. As the class would sing "C is for Christmas," a child would hold up the letter C. Then, "H is for Happy," and on and on, until each child holding up his portion had presented the complete message, "Christmas Love." The performance was going smoothly, until suddenly, we noticed her; a small, quiet, girl in the front row holding the letter "M" upside down - totally unaware her letter "M" appeared as a "W". The audience of 1st through 6th graders snickered at this little one's mistake. But she had no idea they were laughing at her, so she stood tall, proudly holding her "W". Although many teachers tried to shush the children, the laughter continued until the last letter was raised, and we all saw it together. A hush came over the audience and eyes began to widen. In that instant, we understood the reason we were there, why we celebrated the holiday in the first place, why even in the chaos, there was a purpose for our festivities. For when the last letter was held high, the message read loud and clear: "C H R I S T W A S L O V E" And, I believe, He still is. Amazed in His presence....humbled by His love. |

CELL PHONE vs. BIBLE
I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cellphone? What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets? What if we flipped through it several time a day? What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it? What if we used it to receive messages from the text? What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it? What if we gave it to Kids as gifts? What if we used it when we traveled? What if we used it in case of emergency? This is something to make you go...hmm...where is my Bible? Oh, and one more thing.... Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill......And no dropped calls! Makes you stop and think "where are my priorities"? |

We all Need a Tree!
I hired a plumber to help me restore an old farmhouse, and after he had just finished a rough first day on the job: a flat tire made him lose an hour of work, his electric drill quit and his ancient one ton truck refused to start. While I drove him home, he sat in stony silence. On arriving, he invited me in to meet his family. As we walked toward the front door, he paused briefly at a small tree, touching the tips of the branches with both hands. When opening the door he underwent an amazing transformation.. His face was wreathed in smiles and he hugged his two small children and gave his wife a kiss. Afterward he walked me to the car. We passed the tree and my curiosity got the better of me. I asked him about what Ihad seen him do earlier. 'Oh, that's my trouble tree,' he replied 'I know I can't help having troubles on the job, but one thing's for sure, those troubles don't belong in the house with my wife and the children.. So I just hang them up on the tree every night when I come home and ask God to take care of them. Then in the morning I pick them up again.' 'Funny thing is,' he smiled,' when I come out in the morning to pick 'em up, there aren't nearly as many as I remember hanging up the night before' THIS ONE IS WORTH SENDING ON. God Bless, Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance. We all Need a Tree! |

This is REALLY GOOD and is a “Pass It On” letter gift.
When done, Pass It On via regular post office mail and/or emails. s the Bible says in John 10:10 “The thief (Devil) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly”. Satan hopes to steal our blessings, he steals from us through lying and also through fear. Fear threatens us with thoughts of harm or disappointment. Satan shows us a circumstance & then makes us afraid that it will never change. In God we must believe we will see change or the good things we desire. Satan seeks to steal our vision & hope for the future, he tries to steal our sense of right standing with God through guilty feelings and condemnation, through self rejection & even self hatred. Satan, as it says in the bible is a thief & a liar, he tries to steal every good thing that Jesus died to give up. Jesus gave us peace as our inheritance but Satan does everything he can to rob us of it. Recognize your enemy, know him, and stand aggressively against him! He tries to make up feel condemned by our mistakes & he doesn’t want us to ask forgiveness. Satan wants you to give up & quit. Don’t be deceived! Know your enemy! Satan is a troublemaker. You can’t be pitiful & powerful at the same time. Jesus came that we may enjoy our lives in abundance. John 10:10 Never give Satan charge over your thoughts or deeds. Satan sets us up to get us upset, he wants to steal our peace because our power is connected to it. This is REALLY GOOD and is a “Pass It On” letter gift. When done, Pass It On via regular post office mail and/or emails. |

A quote from a newsletter from one of the local radio station that I read and a paragraph really caught my eye. I think its really something to ponder.
The quote being: "We have been taught, perhaps from our youth, that Matthew 6 contains the Lords Prayer". Actually, John provides the Lords great intercessory prayer..." Good article,(John 17 Good reading). |

Author: Elisabeth Elliot
Book:“These Strange Ashes” “It is not natural for me to trust God. It is my natural inclination to worry, to assume burdens never intended for me, to give way to discouragement and even fear………” K was telling me of a book that she is reading and how good it is and she read me a portion of the “Preface” of the book and I went WOW and told her I need to email that. K said that it’s amazing, her life and the things she experienced and how she trusted God through all the things she had been through. K read me some more and it sounded really good. It’s a story of a missionary. I was taken away by the many beautiful and deep writings of the author that Kasie had shared w/me. WOW!!! K said this book is one of her all time favorites because its inspirational and is true life. ---------- Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord… For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease form yielding fruit.(Jeremiah 17:7-8) |

These writings are so wonderful and awesome to me that I want to share them all with you. I am thankful for them. I have been given them all throught the years and have just this year created a 3 ring binder with protective sleeve plastic cover sheets to keep them in, that way years, and years down the road if I want to share some of them with someone I will have them handy. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did/have.

If we were accused of being a Christian in a court of law, would there be enough evidence to convict us?

PRAYER FOR THE AGED
“Lord, Thou knowest better than I know myself that I am growing older, and will someday be old. Keep me from getting talkative, and particularly from the Fatal habit of thinking I must say something on every occasion. Release me from craving to try to straighten out everybody’s affairs. Keep my mind free from the recital of endless details – give me the wings to get to the point. I ask for grace enough to listen to the tales of others’ pains. Help me to listen with patients. But seal my lips on my own aches and pains – they are increasing, and my love of rehearsing them is growing sweeter as the years go by. Teach me the glorious lesson that occasionally it is possible that I may be mistaken. Keep me reasonably sweet; I do not want to be a saint – some of them are so hard to live with – but a sour old person is one of the crowning works of the devil. Make me thoughtful, but not moody; helpful, but not bossy. With my vast store of wisdom, it seems a pity not to use it all – but Thou knowest, Lord, that I want a few friends at the end.” |

Something I read the other day that caught my eye, I thought it to be pretty inspirational:
PRESISTENCE You know, a failure is never a failure until he quits, then he's a failure. Thomas Edison worked on lights. He failed ten thousand times before he got a light to work. If he had quit, he'd never have developed lights. We'd still be in the dark today, I guess. Think about that. He developed the phonograph, and at the time of his death, had patented about 1,000 other inventions, because he had will power and a desire, and he wouldn't let anything get in his way. He was persistent. |

The Cracked Pot
A water bearer in had two large pots, each hung on each end of a pole which he carried across his neck. One of the pots had a crack in it, and while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water at the end of the long walk from the stream to the master's house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water in his master's house. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments, perfect to the end for which it was made. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do. After two years of what it perceived to be a bitter failure, it spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, and I want to apologize to you." "Why?" asked the bearer. "What are you ashamed of?" "I have been able, after these past two years, to deliver only half my load because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your master's house. Because of my flaws, you have to do all of this work, and you don't get full value from your efforts," the pot said. The water bearer felt sorry for the old cracked pot, and in his compassion he said, "As we return to the master's house, I want you to notice the beautiful flowers along the path." Indeed, as they went up the hill, the old cracked pot took notice of the sun warming the beautiful wild flowers on the side of the path, and this cheered it some. But at the end of the trail, it still felt bad because it had leaked out half its load, and so again it apologized to the bearer for its failure. The bearer said to the pot, "Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side of your path, but not on the other pot's side? That's because I have always known about your flaw, and I took advantage of it. I planted flower seeds in your side of the path, and every day while we walk back from the stream, you've watered them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate my master's table. Without your being just the way you are, he would not have this beauty to grace his house. |

The Interview with GOD
I dreamed I had an INTERVIEW WITH GOD. “So you would like to interview me?” GOD asked. “If you have the time”, I said GOD smiled. “My time is eternity… …what questions do you have in mind for me?” “What surprises you most about humankind?” GOD answered… “That they get bored with childhood, they rush to grow up, then long to be children again.” “That they loose their health to make money… and then loose their money to restore their health.” “That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live in neither the present nor in the future.” “They that live as though they will never die, and die as though they had never lived.” GODS hand took mine and we were silent for a while. And then I asked, “As a parent, what are some of life’s lessons you want your children to learn?” “To learn they can not make anyone love them. All they can do is let themselves be loved.” “To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others.” “To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness.” “To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in those they love, and it can take many years to heal them.” “To lean that a rich person is not the one who has the most, but is the one who needs the least.” “To learn that there are people who love them dearly, but simply yet do not know how to express or show their feelings.” “To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it differently.” “To learn that its not enough that they forgive one another, but they must also forgive themselves.” “Thank you for your time I said humbly.” “And, is there anything else you would like your people to know?” GOD smiled and said… “Just know that I am here.” “Always.” |
