I'm glad people are meeting to discuss these issues - very important to balance economic growth with environmental protection. I applaud the Jackson County Comissioners for their subdivision ordinance.

No matter what kind of pretty pictures these arrogant, so-called 'elite' groups, whether academic, business, or political, and their media allies present; no matter what kind of catchy phrases they use to justify lies, deceit, and naked greed for unlimited power for a few, it is still a deadly rope around our throats.

If we western North Carolinians, or the American people in general, meekly allow this treachery, this blatant assault on constitutional freedoms, true free enterprise, and our private property rights, we will deserve our fate.

"Mapping area key to sustainable growth" should read "Convincing local landowners to meet so we can talk them into letting us tell them how to use their land is the key to us getting control of their property without having to pay for it".
