Well, I'm going to back out of this topic. Hopefully, the girls will go to counseling and try to understand what is going on. I think this Kayla went about it the wrong way when it came down to the children but I have never walked in a transgendered shoes so I don't know what Kayla is feeling. As for my children, I tried to get them to go to counseling with me to understand what happened with me and their mother but they refuse too. You can't help someone unless they are willing to help theirself. You all take care.<quoted text>I understand what you are saying. There is pain indeed within the children as well. But one thing is for sure, that Kayla's transformation did not come as a shock. She did not wake up one day as Kayla the drag queen. Her progression was gradual. She would play the female roles in video games with her kids. She statred looking slightly more and more feminine. She let her hair grow out, and shaved her beard. The entire process was gradual. So i could better understand the kids position if Kayla decided one day all of a sudden to play Halloween.
And another thing i find tremendously shocking about this whole story, is that it does not reflect the true statistics. The statistics show that girls who are born to transgender parents usualy over 95% of the time accepts and love the new role that was taken by a father who transitioned. If anything, it is usualy the make children who reject a transgender parent. That is why this entire episode gave me a complete mind fck. It just doesn't fit the norm psychologicaly or statisticaly.
Most teenage girls would love to have a father who would do girl stuff with them. That is the reason why teen girls always run to mom, becuase they feel that daddy doesn't understand them. Now he is in touch with more girl stuff, and can understand a high phone bill as well as shopping expenses. But hey.......maybe it is just me.

Keith I appreciate your time spent here. I also like the fact that you were willing to exchange your ideas with us in a proactive and positive manner.
Let it be known to you, that i never saw you as a bad father. I know that alot of what happens leading up to a divorce, is sometimes out of our contol. But anyway, thanks for seeing us as human beings regardless to our being t-girls, and regardless to our individual veiwpoints on the topic. Take care |

And for once, Keith, I TOTALLY agree with what you said! Kayla didn't handle things well, but then again there isn't a handbook on how to do it right. The girls also need to get some counselling to help. Maybe they will accept Kayla and maybe they won't, but that is up to them. Your story is pretty tragic and I am sure that there have been many missteps made along the way by everyone to contribute to the end result. Good luck on your journey! |
