Their pastors also never sold these gems of wisdom on CD, as Wright's church is doing. The rev is welcome to say what he wants, and if Obama wants to sit there for 20 years and soak it up, it tells us a little bit about the candidate's own thinking. The Wright incident is but another example of Obama's ongoing linkage with people of an anti-American bent - Randy Ayers the unreprentant bomber of domestic targets being just one more example. At some point, who you hang out with matters. Gee, cause McCain's pastor didn't call the Catholic Church the great whore and say that they conspired with Hitler to wipe out the Jews... he also didn't say that Katrina was God's way of punishing New Orleans for supporting and embracing homosexuals... And I guess Clinton's pastor molesting a 7 year old girl isn't important... Also, just because you sit through one sermon you don't agree with, doesn't mean you're supporting that idea. I'm Catholic, but I don't walk out whenever they talk about abortion being evil. Doesn't mean I agree with them.

Democrats voted at 9:50 PM on Thursday May 18, 2006 to block US companies from drilling off the coastal United States. This vote passed even though China, with an awful environmental record, will be drilling for oil within 50-100 miles of America's shores. Cuba announced last week that 36 oil wells are in the works, already.

Do you know what that means, or do I have to spell it out for you? And if you're implying that Republicans did/would support such a ridiculous mess, well big surprise! They have the most to gain financially from new oil wells! OOOOOH!

So, Cuba, China, Venezuela, Brazil, Canada, India, and others may soon be benefiting from the energy reserves a few miles off our coast. But the United States, which is even more dependent on foreign oil than Cuba, is sitting on the sidelines. Unlike Cuba, which does not have the technical ability to drill for oil and gas on its own, the United States has always been a leader in deep ocean exploration and drilling. According to the U.S. Minerals Management Service, America’s deep seas on the outer continental shelf (OCS) contain 420 trillion cubic feet of natural gas (the U.S. consumes 23 TCF per year) and 86 billion barrels of oil (the U.S. imports 4.5 billion per year). However, federal government policies are preventing us from accessing that treasure trove of desperately needed energy. No other nation in the world prohibits development of its offshore energy. But, incredibly, federal prohibitions on OCS drilling over the past 25 years have caused the United States to send trillions of dollars to overseas oil producers and have jeopardized our national security by making us dangerously dependent on foreign energy sources. According to the House Resources Committee, the United States sends around $500 billion annually to foreign energy producers, which is a major cause of our huge annual trade deficits and the continuing precipitous loss of our manufacturing base.

Wow, you really copied this from another forum where it went down in flames? Even if the drilling had been approved, at the rate we're all eating it up it wouldn't even be worth the time and energy it took in the first place! Can you really not wrap your head round that? Or wait, maybe you don't understand that oil is a NON-RENEWABLE resource!

I don't think the greens spreading that argument are really worried that we are running out of oil so there is no need to keep drilling for it. What really gives them sleepless nights is the fear that we won't run out of oil soon enough.

Why NOT vote for Republicans? Well... they have: ...let the oil companies merge again and again, so that now there’s no real competition, which is part of why gasoline is now NEAR $4.00/GALLON. ...done NEARLY NOTHING ABOUT ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION because they want big companies to have lots of cheap labor available. Now with less than six months before the elections, Bush’s INS has finally conducted a few raids.(ILLEGAL immigration should be stopped no matter what country people are coming in from.) ...allowed all kinds of businesses to merge with no checks and balances. Such a small amount of competition means businesses are in a position to pretty much CHARGE WHATEVER THEY WANT. We still have some anti-trust laws, but they are almost never enforced. ...consistently fought against requiring better gas mileage in vehicles, so people with huge cars use up to six times what small and medium sized cars do.(Leave some for the rest of us, would ya?) ...spent over FIVE HUNDRED BILLION DOLLARS in Iraq, and accomplished very little (except killing thousands and generally make a huge mess with no end in sight). Oh, and Bin Laden was IN AFGHANISTAN and is apparently STILL RUNNING AROUND LOOSE. ...busted up nearly all of the unions and now many Americans have no health insurance and little if any job security. ...appointed former drug industry representatives to be the “watchdogs” at the Food and Drug Administration, resulting in the approval of dangerous drugs and ones that had not been properly tested. ...tried (successfully in many cases) to TURN AMERICANS AGAINST EACH OTHER based on race, sex and religion. ...aligned themselves with far-right, wacko “religious” nuts and PREACHED to us about morals, and then have repeatedly been caught soliciting sex in public parks, airport restrooms, etc.(Stay out of other people’s private lives, and when YOU have sex, GET A ROOM like a normal person!) ...waited about four days before beginning to react to HURRICANE KATRINA. On the day Katrina came ashore, Bush was sharing CAKE with John McCain at a FUNDRAISING EVENT (see the picture at http://www.newsweek.com/id/133551 ) While people were still clinging to rooftops, do you remember Bush saying,“Brownie, you’re doing a heck of a job”? ...FAILED to provide proper armor for tanks used by our service men and women in Iraq. ...set up a system for TORTURING SUSPECTED TERRORISTS, the LIED and said that we don’t torture. ...under-funded and mismanaged Veterans’ Administration hospitals, providing substandard treatment. ...deregulated the home loan industry to allow all kinds of “funny money” loans, contributing to the problem of 900,000 HOMES BEING IN FORECLOSURE RIGHT NOW. Had enough? I hope you’ll vote for ANYONE BESIDES McCAIN, and contribute whatever you can to stop the Republicans. www.democrats.org www.moveon.org www.barackobama.com

Well, I also would like to know just what Obama is going to stand for, and just how he's goign to exact these changes.
Never mind continuing to bash Hilary. What are you going to DO Obama? Just pulling the troops out of Iraq is not going to solve all our social ills.
We've got scads of them. Someone needs to do something about the rising fuel costs NOW, not 6-8 months from now, because otherwise, our economy is goign to be in the toilet and we are going to be in a full-fledged DEPRESSION, not just a recession.
I would like to see McCain as president. I'm not fond of his idea for amnesty for all the illegal aliens. I think our country is in too bad a shape economically to even consider that idea. And why foister having someone come into our country and breaking our laws?
The Americans who live here and the ones who were born here are not allowed to break ANY laws! That irks me to death.
Also, just because you are a Democrat does not mean that your parents were either. My parents were staunch Republicans, and I feel that going through life in my times, that the Republicans were often promoting the big corporations with little thought to the little guy. But, if we had a GOOD republican, I would not hestitate to vote Republican.
I don't think that McCain would make a bad president really. I like the guy and have been waiting many years to see him run for office. I think he's got a much better handle on reality in the world's politics than Obama does. who thinks that going to to the President of Iran is going to fix all the problems in the Middle East. What is that guy smoking anyway? I honestly would of loved to have seen Hilary run against McCain, I think that would be a great race. It looks less likely she will win the nominee but I think she's make a super president also. But Obama... if he gets into office, I dread to see what kind of state this country will be in. I don't think it's going to be pretty. His ideology is so far out there... I have great reservations about the guy.

check out his buddy, Rezco... funny how he's not spoken about much in the news.. he's been indicted on federal charges, the money that helped Obama rise to power was partially funded by him, but Obama claims they "got rid of it" as soon as possible! Got rid of it.. like it's tainted or something.. I think his choice of words sort of speaks for itself. He could of simply said they gave it away to charity, but the fact he wants no affiliation with this guy's money, just makes me wonder. I wonder what his stance is on Israel, also, Obama. Has anyone bothered to ask him that? Does he even remember who attacked us on Sept 11th???? The guy has a bad memory. Heaven help us, if he gets into the White House, folks!

There are so many flaws in your argument I don't know where to start. First, congrats, you know his middle name is Hussein -- besides the fact that "Hussein" actually means beautiful (and *gasp* not dictator!) since when did we start judging people based on their namesake? Second, if you had a brain in your head (or wait, you're the one who can "think for yourself" right), you'd know that your little jab at socialism was stupid. In its democratic form, socialism is actually incredibly productive and would do a lot for this country (in the forms of health care, social security, education, etc.) but I bet you're one of those morons who simply associates socialism with a dictatorship, so therefore it's bad... Secondly, Reczo isn't nearly as big a deal as you're making out of it, but if you're going to go there, how about you look into Hillary Clinton's federal case that's conveniently being put on hold until November -- she forced/stole over one million dollars to fund her campaign, but have you seen that in the news? No, because idiots like you are too busy digging up non-existent dirt on Obama. Suffice to say you're a moron and I'm glad you're going to be voting for John McCain -- we certainly don't want the "support" of such an ignorant human being. You say you're voting for John McCain for the children is a joke; bet you voted for Bush for the same reasons too, right?

Antoin "Tony" Rezko, an indicted political fundraiser contributed $60K to Obama's campaign... now you know he will expect something in return. He already had Obama find a job in the senate for one of his friends, John Armanda. So that tells me he is "for sale", if the price is right.
