So, is all this just a new way for someone to make money?

Buy a piece of property from the government, another government group (using the terms loosly for the City Council of Asheville) decides they do not want the land sold, then make big dollar offers to get the land back!

Certainly only the City of Asheville and their Council could ever come up with such desires to find a new way to spend tax dollars and make an individual a nice bit of pocket change in the process.

Council would change their minds if the owner would make it all affordable housing and maybe put in a branch of the local YW!

I would hate to see it happen, but as long as this 'sliver' of Pack property was sold against the will of Geo. Pack---then it resorts back to the decendants. Wha-Lah, problem solved.

All thanks to the present seating commisioners.

"we are restricted by N.C. law not to pay in excess of fair market value.”

I guess this means that Coleman is asking for more than fair market value for his site when he demands $4.5 million.

That's what you call naked greed, y'all.

Bill Stanely was present at the Buncombe County Democratic Party convention when the Party voted against the Parkside project. Stanley said nothing. If he was for it, why didn't he say something then? Instead he just sat on his hands, scared to tell the truth in public.

If Coleman won't take a buyback, then all that's left is condemnation a.k.a. eminent domain. Either way, Coleman's laughing all the way to the bank.

I was just wondering if their might be some kind of vagerency law that would put the tree huggers out of their misery. If their isn't one then the freaks at Pritchard Park could do the same then.

JUST A THOUGHT.
I'm sure I'll get some kind of answer's.

"...We have received legal advice from our council about all possible options including condemnation and reacquiring the property ..."

A council takes advice from its legal counsel.

Everyone else has enough sense to stay out of the rain. You'll have to throw it to yourself as usual.
