This is old news. Why bring this topic back up? They were punished and now it is over with. Let it go!

Sh1t, anyhow it happened didn't it and we don't want them forgetting it anytime soon.
May it'll be a lesson to anyone else who had thoughts of doing it too...People have to be safe when going into one of those holes trying to make a living for their family. or, maybe you don't have to worry about that happening to you..

I heard that reggie was in jail over it. not certain but I did hear that his brother rick raleigh had said that.
I thought the other guys name was Ira not mike.

They were doing what they were told to do, either do that or lose their job. At least they work and are trying to support their families and make a living, instead of living off welfare like the majority of Harlan County!

Thats true! I worked with all three of them and they are all good guys that I would trust my life with anytime. well except for johnny , I didnt like him too much cause he was always ratting on people.

none were in jail at all they got fines but that’s it they did what they were told I think the superintendent may have gotten some jail time but he’s was from VA bud more he’s the one responsible I’m sure it want happen again these are 3 good guys caught up in a bad situation caused by bud more.

u DONT HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT U ARE TALKING ABOUT! BUD HAS BEEN GONE TO VA FOR A FEW YEARS NOW. HE WAS THE ONE THAT GOT IN TROUBLE WHEN BRANDON AND RUSSELL GOT KILLED. Roy chasteen is the super now. And no matter what they was told to do , when u have your bossing papers, u are the one responsible for the men at the time. And u have to know the laws , they knew what they were doing was illegal and putting mens life at risk. reggie and ira knew better . I had also heard that they got their papers took.. U have it mixed up thinking of bud..
And for u talking bad about bud!, u dont know anything about bud obviously, or u wouldnt have said what u did.
He was one of the best supers I have ever worked for and he knew what he was doing, he also run more coal than any other mines in cloverlick 90 percent of the time. I know he should have made the boss train those guys on mrs's , but he shouldnt be the only one to take the fall for it.

They were working on a sunday at stillhouse#1 and had the fan turned off with men underground. They thought they could get by with it and someone called the inspectors on em, and got caught.
Anytime the mine ventilation fan is off for more than a few min. the mine has to be evacuated .once everyone is outside the fan has to come back on and a boss has to go back inside and pre-shift (examine) the mine and then the men will be able to go back to work.

That is exactly what is wrong with the coal mine right know!! they had to do it or loose their job. These companys know that everyone is gonna lay down and take it, and not do a damn thing about it. If there wasnt so many suck-asses that caused the union to go away u wouldnt have to worry about it. I work for arch coal co.crcc. and u would never have to do something like that because we have a union. It isnt as strong as it was because of sucks but we do have one. And I am 100 percent for it. and anyone that says diffrent is a suck. and dont know what they are talking about. I know the union at 37 mine and benham took advantage of it but it is for the worker and always will be. That way the co. cant just up and fire u over something like the situation reggie and them was in.
I get angry even talking about this but It is the truth, and I know some company suck is probably gonna get on here and bash the union, but I guess everyone has their own opinion....

I think they got off way too easy, and the mines probably paid their fines for them anyway.

Mostly because the mines around here are contracted out and are small operations. That way they can just close the doors on it instead of letting a union in. And they know they cant treat union workers like shit!! so they try everything in their power to keep it out...
Lone mountain tried a few years ago, but I heard that the co. paid umwa to go away, not sure but I did hear it.

Hell I know that aint true I work with him everyday best feller I've ever worked with and hes not missed no work so I know he aint been in jail you fellers are just trying to trash a man who you don't know shit about.
