I just finished reading the book and it was both fascinating and disturbing. I think the fivesome planned the affair. Leith was obviously killed sometime around 10 pm and the rest of it had to be staged to eventually call 911 around 4:30 am. The timeframe of the phone call is to cover Chris, who may have been there and returned to NC State right after the incident. Bonnie was obviously stabbed (staged) very close to the time of the 911 phone call.

according 2 the ncdoc website upchurch is still in jail and not up 4 review again til december of this year(2010)... as 4 angela and chris last i heard they were living in welcome(lexington)nc. WITH THEIR MOTHER!!! shes a better woman than me. i believe upchurch was involved but neal henderson got off (basically) with a slap on the wrist and i believe he was there IN THE HOUSE the night of the murders. angela was in on it 2, i believe... but i feel that poor woman (bonnie) has been thru enough and if she can sleep at night i guess thats all that matters... BUT I COULDN'T SLEEP IN THE SAME HOUSE WITH SOMEONE WHO TRIED 2 KILL ME. just my opinion.

What ever happened to the four men convicted of home invasion, battery, mulipule rape of a 22 year old Greenville girl (Caroline Lincoln) in early 1976. Was one of them to be paroled because he did not rape her, whereas the others did and hence - remain in prison for 50-60-70 years? With mulpule rapes and beatings, that one man was still there and was said he did nothing to stop the crime!!!! That's justice

Re the undigested rice,might the victim have had a late night snack of restaurant left-overs while Bonnie was asleep? Was this idea ever persued? I gather the police work was very sloppy re this case.

I have just read the book. The only way Bonnie can now live under the same roof as Chris and Angela is if she was "in on it" too. I believe Bonnie just wanted the money also.

Chris Pritchard owns an apartment in Lexington NC. Bonnie Von Stein owns a home on 1.66 acres in Arcadia (near Welcome/Lexington) in Davidson County. Angela has a PO Box in Welcome and is a part-time photographer, particularly of equestrian events. Any idea where Neal is these days?

I have a hard time with the food not being digested either. I also have a real hard time believing Angela did not hear the screams. However, if she was "in on it" it would have been better for her to have spent the night at a friends house as she would have had an alibi and no questions at all as to why she was not murdered or awakened. I also believe Neal and Chris should have had the same sentence Bart had. I love my children dearly but would never have used my poor murdered husband's money to protect my own son who murdered him. Good grief that is cold. I guess the law could not prevent her from doing so.

No clue why this case popped in my head today, but it did, and here I am.
I still can't believe Chris Pritchard has been paroled. Not right. Not right at all. All three of them should have been sentenced to life with no parole. I don't care who was driving, who did the actual physical killing. All three knew what the intent was, all three are equally culpable in my mind. This was a brutal, brutal attack resulting in the death of a defenseless man. Sad, all around.

Theses are the real mysteries. I agree. I just finished reading 'Cruel Doubt' by Joe McGinniss. A fascinating book on the crime. These questions stood out for me too. Angela's participation in the plot is quite believable & supported by the evidence. Angela & Moog were a couple, giving her the motive to help the murderers. Lieth's stomach contents are the only loose end in the scenario, IMO.

Theses are the real mysteries. I wonder if it's possible that Bonnie was unconscious for quite some time? Also....isn't it possible that Leith's digestion wasn't working just like clockwork? Just saying.....maybe not everyone's digestion is in great working order. I totally agree that Angela was somehow involved. There is clear evidence that she was involved, but not enough to put her on trial. I think Chris covered for his sister.
