THIS IS NOT NEWS. Each day we need to hear on the TV and newspapers about the Somali immigrants problems in Minnesota. Enough with this other stuff.

I agree with you Hector. This is America. And, we need to protect and help the Somali community in any that we can. Certainly, we should be updated on this news story on a daily basis.

This is simply unsustainable and unconscionable that this "event" should be allowed in this day and age. All of these old junkers should be scrapped and replaced by modern, efficient and green Priuses. They also lack safety features such as airbags and anti-lock brakes. All of the money people spend to get in ($12 each!) should be donated to the poor.

These cars, on average, are in better condition, safer, and pollute less that your average Prius. They are very sustainable because they are well-maintained by their owners, and most of them will be around long after the Priuses are gone.

And why do you want them to be replaced by only green Priuses? Don't you think people should be allowed to have red, blue, or silver Priuses, or any other model and color of auto they wish to buy?

(Editing note: Just what is the correct plural of Prius?)

You fail to recognize that Somali immigrants have a great love and admiration for classic American muscle cars...most Somalis who have come to the USA aspire to own these types of hot rods... Just like the people from India all want to own convince stores ...some time very soon,all these hot rod cars will be owned by Somalis and used as taxis at the airport

Actually Mrs (t)R(oll), when one considers the impact of their manufacture, battery replacement and "final disposition", Priuses are NOT the eco-answer, be-all-and-end-all that certain myopic folks who only think about gas mileage, would naively assume they are.
