Its mating season and the male bears are out and about looking for a girlfriend.
They rarely bother people. The only time you need to worru about a black bear is if you corner it or get between it and its food source or its a female and u get near her cubs. I have been about 100 feet from bear in Suffolk a few years ago and all it did was look at me and grunt.

What do you expect when we continually take away the natural habitats of our wildlife. Will there come a time when we will not be able to enjoy the beauty of nature?
