Georgia High School Football - Turner County edges Hawkinsville

The only word that comes to mind is "CHEATERS". There is no excuse for what took place. Bad calls from the referees and all. These are high school kids not Pro football players. When something like this happens, it not only hurts our players, school administration and parents but the entire organization.
You will have to live with what you have done and it was wrong. Ask for forgiveness from the Almighty One.

I know this is OLD but I have seen Hawkinsville STEAL from Turner Countyin 1987 in a playoff game...We hahd 5:26 left to go in the fourth and down by two...we drove from our ten to thier 20 and called a time out. We then called a sweept to Eric Green who with excellent blocking..I played center and sealed the corner for Eric...proceeded to score on that next play!! Eric made it to the endzone and put the ball at the officials feet! This was five yards into the endzone as I trialed the play downfield and went to congratulate Eric. The ref never signaled touchdown even though we were in the endzone and the Hawkinsville player jumped on the ball like it was a fumble even though Eric had NOT BEEN TOUCHED on his way to the endzone and this defender was put on his butt at the start of the play!! The ref then gives the ball to Hawkinsville on the 20 with 2:45 left. Talkin about robbed...than man had to have been PAID!!!! Coach Holley got ejected because he went to argue the call and would NOT leave the field!! Our D stops them with 1:50 to go..We made it to the three yard line and because our time out was taken on the disputed play...we did not have a chance to win the game!
