This thread for Jasper MO seems to be pretty dead. I graduated in Jasper in 1954 and split the same day.
While in Jasper I worked for and became a friend of Dr Krusekopf DVM. I have heard that he did a great deal of public service for Jasper. He did the same when I was there.
Was wondering if the city ever did anything to recognise him some way?

Fancy meeting you here after 50 some years. Are many of the other guys in the scouts still around or alive? I am PJ. Don't care to give my name other than that. So, did the city do anything to recognise him ? Do you still live there? I am in Oklahoma now. Let me hear more.

Well Rush, it would be great to see you again but probably not gonna happen. I heard that Lou and Ken Manaval have passed on. I saw Bronson about 6 years ago when my dad died. Lotsa memories about Jasper. Apparently Topix isn't very popular in Jasper. About 6 years ago I almost opened a barber shop in Jasper.

Hi! I'm actually living in the old Krusekop house and my husband and I are hoping to buy it in the next year or so. My mom grew up in Jasper amd Ive lived here since I was 14, but I don't know much about the house or anything. If you have any info or stories or anything cool to say about it I'd love to hear it! I love this house! Oh and we live right next door to Mrs. Krusekop but she isn't doing well these days and her son isnt exactly welcoming so I'm hesitant to go over and talk to her.

I met Dr. Krusekopf when he moved to Jasper. He was married and had no children. His wife did some substitute teaching. Right away Doc hired me on as a helper. Didn't pay much but the next best job was at a huge greenhouse for $5.00 a day. I figured I wanted to be a vet as well. Don't think I was smart enough, but because of the draught in 54 my calves didn't even buy me a bus ticket to Columbia. I dearly loved the doc and his wife. They treated me like family. After I left Jasper they got divorced and he took on a new wife. At least that is the story I heard. He had a sweet lil neice from Mexico, Mo come visit. Doc gave me 5 bucks and asked me to take her out one night. I did and we had lotsa fun. I was driving a 34 Plymouth I bought for $37.50. Doc was our Scout Master and did a great job. Made sure to thank him and I think he really appreciated it. I called him about 12 years ago (?) and talked about opening a barber shop in Jasper. He welcomed me and said he would turn his job as mayor over to me. Lotsa stories to tell about doc..good ones. My folks once owned Judy's and the school bus concession. My claim to fame in Jasper was basketball, boxing.
