What are the best areas of Bakersfield?

Im also suck here as well and it sucks. And to those people that say oh well every place has a bad side TO it and all this other crap is wrong.Bakersfield is so bad because of the BAD AIR ,THE PEOPLE (rude) THE CRIME ,THE FEW PLACES TO GO TO, THE UGLY WEATHER ,THE WELFARE FAMILIES I SEE SHOPPING AT ALL THE STORES add all that together and that makes a big pile of crap. I rest my case.

SHERBAG…..When I “ADDED ALL THAT TOGETHER” I didn’t get the same answer you did, what I did get was the insight of a very JUDGMENTAL and NARROW MINDED individual making statements that are STUPID. For example when you said “And to those people that say oh well every place has a bad side TO it and all this other crap is wrong”, then if the people that say this are so WRONG, then you name ONE “Place that doesn’t have a “BAD SIDE” to it. YOU CAN’T! All cities in and out of the state of California have “BAD SIDES”!
And your statement “THE WELFARE FAMILIES I SEE SHOPPING AT ALL THE STORES” is just as STUPID as the first. Basically your saying that you can be in a store and pick out “THE WELFARE FAMILIES”, give me a break and rest your NECK!

After reading all these comments, I am really scare for my family both safety and healthy. We have to move because of my husband's job. We do not like the idea; however, we have no choice. I believe in God and I kwnow he will take care of us. I have a little boy who is 4 years old, I will appreciate if someone tell me where is the best and safe area to live? Also, which is the best elementary private or public school. Thanks

ROSEDALE is considered the best area of Bakersfield in my opinion and I think others will agree with me as well. There are many good schools in Rosedale within the numerous districts.

I have lived in Bakersfield most of my adult life. It is a wonderful place to be. You will want to stay in the NW. The Norris school systems is a good elementary school system. Centennial and Liberty High School and Stockdale High School are the best High Schools. Fruitvale School district is OK. I taught foreign exchange students for 8 years and had lots of interaction with the high schools and local families. I grew up in Shafter, CA and then moved to Bakersfield when I graduated. I now live in GA but will be moving back to Bakersfield after the first of the year. It is a nice place to live without all the high price tags of other California cities. You are close to LA for theatre,(culture), to the Beach, Mountains and lots of other places. I have moved to Okla., NY, NC, SC and GA and I always keep coming back to Bakersfield. You will find crime everywhere you go, and yes, the pollution is a problem but the town is still a great place to live. Good luck woth your move.
