I totally agree with the actions of the POLICE !! Remember Erik Kleibold ( Columbine H.S.) this may have prevented another senseless slaughter !!!

Obviously you didn't graduate with any brain cells. What the police did was reprehensible.

Wow Troy, Thats the kind of fear that causes everyone to lose thier rights. Do you really see a simularity between the fifth grader and Columbine? If so, you either dont have kids or dont take the time to understand how a kid thinks or pay attention to what he really does. Just like Columbine was a result of bad parenting and nothing else. I grew up with G.I. Joes and I dont kill people. Also, do you really think that if the police cant handle an 11 year old without handcuffs, they should be protecting your fearful believes?

I agree with the police. This child needs help. A "normal" child doesn't draw a stick figure with "the teacher must die". We can all think a 11 yr old is harmless but you know what they say about "assume". These parents need to be concerned about this child.

If the school didn't feel threatened, who is it at the Police Dept that took it upon themselves to call the Administration later that night? WTF?
If it was a "therapeutic" drawing then it should have been treated as such and he could've gone to the school counselor who could've had a conversation with the therapist. The child's behavior could have been modified WITHOUT costing thousands extra in legal fees and proceedings. This is sick and is a freedom that is covered under the First Amendment...there was no intent...the school saw that, the boy admitted it, and the therapist backed it up.
Threats without intent are not crimes...this boy got locked up for speech crimes.
Bye, bye Liberty and was good while it lasted!
