Man, woman found fatally shot in parking lot

Didn't 3 other people get shot last night in another SFS location. That's FIVE people shot in less than 18 hours in ONE SMALL GANG INFESTED CITY. WAKE UP VOTERS. STOP THIS MADNESS AND DEMAND JUSTICE From our SFS CITY COUNCIL!

This is horrible. We now have PUBLIC EXECUTIONS going on in the city!!

damn that area of SFS/whittier is turning into a war zone....

Usually gang related shootings are around the homes....this was in an industrial area of the city, sounds like these people were brought here to be executed...Hopefully not a SFS citizen!

SERIOUS GANG ACTIVITY in SFS and NO one cares Watch they will sugar coat this real good for all the residents so they will feel safe. Nothing happens in SFS nothing needs to change EVERTHING is PERFECT... Give me a freaken break.. No one in city hall cares about the crime in the North side of SFS they all live in the South out of sight out of mind.. WHY do you think the 500 new homes were built on the south side of Telegraph WAKE up people it's not Pleasentville or Mayberry it's a GANG and DRUG WAR ZONE!!

I have lived in SFS for 35 years and have never felt as unsafe as I do. I for one am making a phone call to City Hall THIS MORNING. Hopefully these crimes so close to each other will wake the city officals up. It really bothers me to read SFS as a gang infested area. Maybe city officals will feel the same. I used to feel fairly safe here, not anymore and I will tell whoever I speak to that. At least I will try.

Hopefully YOU will make a phone call, you say OUR city council, so it seems as if you live in the city, the more people that call the better. You can also leave a message on the council's website, I'm doing that also. Let's just try.

Where in the story does it say "Gang Related"? The story is typical Whittier Daily without any real information. The 3 shootings were the result of a hit and run from Senior Charlies, a bar that has seen more that it's share of shootings.

Sounds like a "HIT" to me. 2 dead bodies found in an isolated area, Both shot in the head. There is a lot more to this story that there are not telling.
Or is it just me watching too many movies???

damn the ppl that died i remember them when i was a lil girl always coming over to my house and always at family geathering dang my family is so sad with this and even though i had no relations with them...they still knew me as a child... r.i.p lefty and troubles

Leonard Soliz Jr., 35, of Pico Rivera, died from a single bullet to the head, police said.

Celeste Jimenez, 31, of Bell Gardens, also sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head, police said.

Not SFS citizens.....what is City Hall supposed to do when outsideres come to SFS to do what they do! I have lived in SFS all my life and still very safe...And I have owned a home on both North and South of Telegraph, I have been treated the same on either side!!!

SFS is not that bad people make it seem like a gang land I play ball at los nietos all the time with out any worries and have never in my 28 years living here had any problems (im not gang related gang affiliated nothing) and graduated from PHS down the street and I am out at all overs of the day and my kids play out here with out any worries!

You got that right!! Could not have said it better!! Unfortunately, looks like someone took advantage of the industrial area in Los Nietos/SFS/Whittier to settle some unfortunate score. For those that don't already know the area of Los Nietos is unincorporated Whittier and is small swath of land that is not Whittier or SFS and Pico Sheriff's come if there is trouble when Norwalk Station is closer. Go figure how the sheriff's get the job done if you can call it that. It will be a while but I bet Whittier PD if they are the jurisdiction will find out what happened. They don't leave many if any stone unturned. Who ever took them there or arranged to meet them there did so as on a early Sunday morning there is almost zero traffic and businesses closed for weekend. I think that it is obvious that it is a hit and the reason behind it will have to be found out. It is nice that it is not a SFS Citizen but sad that someone brought trouble to our city.

Think you got your boundries and streets wrong among other things. Have lived on both sides of Telegraph since mid 1960's and when the Dairy and Flood Ranch Dist. were still around and Canta Rantas ran the park. Santa Fe Springs picked themselves up and have fought thru many thngs and made it a safer city to day than it was when I was a child. What would someone from Downey know anyway with all your Mc Mansions? You probably freak when you see someone that is any color but white. In Santa Fe Springs it is not about North and South of Telegraph it is about pulling together and solving issues as it has for many years. Best thing was changing to Whitter PD as it the Sheriff's had heard shots they would not have bothered to check things out as they are understaffed and aways behind on calls. What you described it what is happening to Norwalk as the gang element creeps northward past Rosecrans and has LA Gangs doing business in such a way that LA PD came and shot one in a Market parking lot on Firestone and Imperial Hwy. People from Downey should clean up own yard and let people in SFS handle things. SFS did not hire Whittier PD because LA Sheriff's did a brilliant job and a great price. People however should know that where the shooting occured is virtually devoid of people on weekend and especially Sundays given the economy. It is all Industrial. Those of us familiar with the area probably all do same thing and do not drive thru it in the wee hours of the morning and have been of this habit as long as I can remember. Have friends that live block away on Walnut and they say trouble comes to the area because on weekends there is not one there and is prime area for drug deals and god knows what! Sounds like there is a bar not far away that should be shut down but that is my opinion. I don't like having bars too close to residential areas. Don't want to live near a place where the drunks exit at 2am. It is a wake up call to those that don't know about dangers of traveling thru industrial areas late late at night or on Weekends as it is often a dodgey deal. If you must go thru lock door and have a cell phone handy and cross yourself.
