The question is rather rhetorical, based on historical evidence, but if you answer "Democrat Congress" you will need to explain your answer.
Since January, 2007 our economy has gone into a death spiral.

Imagine Ronald Reagan having a fiscally conservative Congress in the 80's instead of a tax and spend liberal democrat Congress.

If the government spends less, then they lower taxes, which gives the opportunity for people to invest into companies, which in point should offer more jobs. What a insulting state on the fourth of July that congress is filled with self-interested trader socialism trying to bring back tyranny of GB.

I agree with you, but the problem is Obama isn't cleaning anything. He's making the problem worse than it already was. He has rich cronies that he's taking care of too. Do I even need to go there with the czars? The continued bailouts that haven't benefitted us one bit?

We need to completely clean house and start over with some real people in office--fresh faces, fresh ideas.

Things haven't been this bad in my lifetime. Seems Democrats do more harm than Republicans. I just wish any of them no matter the party, would do something for our benefit for a change. Bring back our jobs from overseas and kick out the scum who are here illegally and it matters not what country they came from, illegal is illegal.

Can we be sure that the Congress has any significant influence on the economy? More importantly, is it really safe for us to assume that what the ecnoomy does today is the result of what the current Congress has done, and not the result of actions and decisions made in the past (possibly greatly past)? Can we really be sure that what the economy is doing is not the result of an economic cycle?

Incredible how this poll, and about 3-4 others just like it on Topix, changed by about 80-100 votes overnight.

Somebody has WAY too much time on their hands!

Kind of like how Adrian Ewing was way up front in the "Who will be elected to city council" Poll, even though he actually finished dead last.

Hmmm. I wonder who would try to change those polls.

Are you people blind AND stupid??? Since democrats controlled congress, things have gone to he ll. One thing you mor ons are forgetting is that the pres. cannot do whatever he wants, it has to go through congress, AND the house. Bush had alot of good ideas, BUT, they were shot down by congress. He was told by other people that Iraq had wmd's. Obama has doubled Bush's spending of 8 yrs. in only a few months, and is expected to quadruple it in 4 yrs. with the spending he has planned. McCain wasn't great but he wanted to cut spending, as palin DID a HUGE amount of in Alaska, not quadruple it, on things like frog research, and research on urban wetlands... as Obama is doing. FOOLS.

What were some of the good ideas that Bush proposed? Dems had a slight majority and couldn't get anything through with the threat of a veto. You have no business calling anybody a fool, you know nothing about politics except what Rush and Hannity tell you, fool.

Daily Horoscope for January 6

Aries

The behaviour of somebody around you (most probably your partner or family member) may be rather irrational today. Alternatively, a surprise involving one of these people is possible. Try to keep your domestic plans reasonably flexible to cover all possible outcomes. The focus is on improving your relationship with your partner or with friends today. Any outings should go very smoothly.
