It's sucks that you have to go that way to cross 101 safely. Not only that but nobody uses the turnouts to let fast vehicles by causing unsafe passing.

It is so sad to know that the victims families are grieving instead of celebrating a wonderful holiday. My prayers go out to them. Words cannot express, one mistake can take 3 lives, they were someone's children.

uh, concerned what part of doing 65, crossing the lane lossing control did you miss. The CHP this morning reported DUI but the article failed to mention this. The autopsy will show this if it was contributing. I've seen big rigs atempting to pass each other on 129. The roads fine as long as long as you drive safe but this is all to common here...
There ya go.
The same could be said about highway 17. Do the posted speed and everything works out fine.

Mexican or not they were humans, and all humans make mistakes. Not to mention the fact that DUI wasnt the absolute cause of the wreck. For their sake I hope they were already deceased, for their families sake I hope they said their I love yous before they left. RIP

It was a father and his son and daughter who were killed. The mother had died two weeks ago from an aneurysm. The woman who was killed left a 12-year-old son, a daughter 19, and a 4-year-old grandson. There are many grieving, heartbroken relatives and friends of these three. I hope none of them read the callous remarks made on this forum by some uncaring people.

Your an a**hole!!! why don't you show some simpathy/consideration for the family left behind. For your information idiot, they were my uncle and cousins who just lost their wife/mother a few weeks ago and they weren't drunk!!!
I am really sorry!

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

That road seems to be very dangerous and needs to be more closely regulated apparently.

I'm so sorry for the families having to suffer this loss on Mother's Day weekend no less.

Ya Think..that maybe they got a late start, or hung up in traffic and possibly were late for work..that alcohol or drugs played no part. But providing for family did.(The 8:30 a.m. collision) Why do people jump to conclusions. And what difference does it make what they were, they were human beings... living & breathing. No more sunsets, sunrises etc etc

I was supposed to being in Hollister at 9am & would've been on that road when it happened had I not slept in: I do feel for the families - it is a tragic loss - it makes me wonder if anything less than cement barricades (like on Hwy 17) need to be put there as well... I sometimes wish we had the same transportation as in olden times: horse & buggies...
Another lonely mom...

A 1968 pickup? If it was one of those with the gas tank behind the front seat, well no wonder it blew up so quickly.

My prayers with the survivors of this tragedy.

What is it with the evil folks who reside in mommy's ADU/basement who write such hatred on blogs. Stop your drunken, self-loathing rants and get a life.

Instead of censoring words like s***, the Sentinel should censor hate speech.

sad, but speed and reckless behavior kills. Everyone needs to kiss their kids and drive safely! What is the rush?
