Does anyone out there know who the city of Arnett is named after and what year the city was established??

It seems around 1900, with Arnett getting a post office in June, 1902. I would bet that Arnett was named after an early settler in the area, as many towns were.

Also, I would suggest posting in the Elk City forum. It's very active and you will get your questions answered their much quicker.
