Arma sucks

Dude you have very bad taste for videogames then.Armed Assault is the best game I've seen in a very long time. If you go to the Armed Assault website and download the 1.8 update you will see an amazing difference!

I agree.. duded a tard..lol.. 30 years old and in all my time I have yet to see a military game even remotely as good as this.. you can fly choppers, planes, and drive armor.. theres all kinds of things ucan do including create your own missions from nothing.. and these missions can beway more immense than anything the arma makers themselves made. The game is new and has some issues but so did the 1st version of it, Flashpoint.. this is combined assault and just came out a few months ago.. most of the erros were fixed int eh 1.08 update but it still has issues.. regardless it is sooooooo worth it.. stop bashing something because someone pooped in ur cherrios.. the game rox.. bottom line..

This game is a pile of crap. OFP even at release was 10 times the game this is. You think the graphics and game play are some of the best you have seen in your 30 years of life? Did you spend the last 15 years smoking crack? I have a new rig
top of the line everything. The game is so choppy,even with the patch. I'm not the only hardcore gamer (i have almost every shooter/military game ever made) with this same stance. Save your money or go buy the first OFP (if you can still find it) and have a way better experience. the game suck dod dick..bottom line..

Arma still blows with the updates, game crashes frequently, and godlike AI will snipe you with automatic rifles.

ArmA is only fun online, the fucking AI cant decide weather they should lie down or stand up, so they just do both at the same time!, they will lie down in the street, even if cover is less than 3 feet away, and when the enemy starts shooting, they just jump up and run towards them, then they lie down infront of a tank, and die, SUITINGLY.

not to mention the complete lack of any physics, or how about online play, everyone just sits around in the hills sniping at your from 2 kilometers away, unless your palying CO-OP. againts the bullshit AI

the game is fucked, i really loved it, it was exelent, i was sure the patch would fix stuff.

now the game is so fucked with bugs, it wont even boot up

The bashers here are obviously idiots with no patience. This is not a game, it's a MILITARY SIMULATION. In fact, this is THE most realistic military simulation you can get, period. While the AI might not be the smartest all the time, go play online against real people and see how long you last without using real world tactics and strategy. If you want to just run and gun shoot-em-up style then go play America's Army, its NOT a simulation like Arma is so perhaps you can get your kicks there.

ive been editing and playing ofp since it was released, 2years ago i changed to arma
i can say now this game (arma)really sucks and believe me ive had patience, a lot of it.
to make a long story short i lost months and month of my life making missions i cant even play because of these fucking bugs, mission after mission never giving up. i tried everyting from patching scripting reworking,.. always some problem comes up.2 years and about 7 patches later the game is still fucked up!!!!! there is this savegame bug, you cant even save and reload your mission, so goodbye long missions. Not to mention the ai, tanks run into buildings ai dont move or something, helicopters crash,......really, its a long list i can write A LOT more. Its a shame people feel good selling this stuff. Right now the game is in the trash can i'm so dissapointed in bi studios they dont know how to make games, codemasters do, DONT BUY ARMA I CANT EVEN CALL IT A GAME ITS CRAP, BUY OFP or wait for ofp 2 (wich will be released soon).
i do have to say this if you want to play the standard missions and campaign (the saves and system is ok) they are fun but soon you will be bored and you try to make nice missions but you will smash your head to the wall from frustation. Ive never had problems of this size with ofp.

I own OFp , VBS1 Arma i downloaded (German version) Arma: Combat Operations I purchased and Queen's gambit I downloaded. I would say ArmA sucks. I own it and prayed it would be better than it is but its rehashed OFP that does look a little better but basically plays the same way. NOW that being said I love OFp. I would scrap buying this game until its in the bargain bin (if you can find it in the US) And download a friends copy of OFP and go grab a goo dmod like FFUR, Modern Combat Mod or FFUR85 these all make the game aweseome without out all the lagg you get in Arma. check it out. ffur.net free download..

So many patches, and this piece of junk is still bugged to hell and back. Actually, it seems to me for every bug they fix, 3 new ones are introduced into the game. I'm sorry to say this, but after all these patches I've come to the conclusion that trained monkeys could have created a more stable gaming experience than BI did.

I was/am a hardcore fan of OFPR... I felt for many years a deep sense of respect for Bohemia and the masterpiece they created. I would defend the less than average graphics and try enlighten others to the kind of gameplay OFP offered.... I love ofp.
Arma? That's a different story...the game was clearly rushed to meet a deadline that had been rolling back for years. Clearly BIS was too focused on converting ofp to xbox and didn't give enough effort to Arma. Anyone who can't feel this when playing Arma should check thier pulse....really. And now ArmA2? PLZ....I'd rather spend my money on the codemaster project OFP2....sad I know....but true.

Hate to say it, but it sucks. It's a travesty coming from the same developer that made OFP. I think it's hilarious that Valve can make sure it's titles, no matter how old, are compatible with new hardware, and yet BIS can't even do it for one game.

That, and BIS didn't learn from the failure that was OFP Elite, so let's port ArmA 2 to console.

I will say both arma and OFP are well intentioned, good concepts, poorly executed.

Good: Go-anywhere, do-anything, use, and take-anything environment. Total interactivity.

Bad: While ARMA's graphics are an improvement over OFP, the infantry play control is still quite poor. it's slow and clunky in transitioning from standing to crouch or prone, while in prone you are committed to being a stiff human log, so if you are prone in a doorway you can't look left or right like you'd be able to in Ghost recon (or real life).

Good: Bullets are affected by time, wind and gravity.

bad: You can't choose or customize your kit at mission start, and the game's out-of-the-box weapon selection is quite sparse for a game so expansive otherwise. One pistol, rifle, mg, and sniper rifle per force.

bad: On top of the already poor play control, buttons often don't work while moving. Sometimes the prone button doesn't work when i'm running or walking and i have to hit it four or five times.

It's fine to call this a military simulator, but that is no excuse for poor play control. A real soldier is quite agile. He can also overcome obstacles like low fences or jersey barriers, which are impassible in this game. The top speed running also seems quite slow. I wonder if they had paid any attention or done research on the athletic characteristics of average soldiers. If they had put as much work into the movement of the men as they obviously did on bullet characteristics, the game would be 300% better. I suggest they take a look at how the soldiers in Ghost recon and call of duty move. COD, while basically an arcade game, does capture the movement characteristics of a soldier quite well. They can run, jump, and climb over obstacles.

Arma.... its the a.i an its the animations of the charaters

as much as i hate call of duty 4, I love how real that charaters look. They areny rock stiff, they look like their breathing heavy, checking their mags, messing with their guns, even though breaching and other cool stuff are scripted

If they can mix the animations of call of duty 4 and the tactics and gameplay of full spectrum warrior.
