Your bogus claim about the US is carrying out ethnic cleansing in Iraq is a fallacy that "requires the willing suspension of disbelief". If ignorance is bliss, then you are beyond euphoric. If you prefer the latter, find a topic that you can stay on instead of spreading your BS. I would have kept on subject if not for the imbeciles like yourself. Was für ein Mist! Va te foutre!

Perhaps a reading comprehension course is in order as well. I never said the US was conducting ethnic cleansing. You did. Next...

The question if Jesus ever existed shouldn't be that important. We can take the good things attributed to him and apply it to our lives.

In the sense of Sadam holding the country together through murder, rape, torture, imprisonment and chemical attacks on the kurds (all things you embraced), he did prevent the Sunnis and Shiites from having it out with each other. So I guess getting rid of one murderous bastard enabled the rest, but in case you haven't realized it, the two sides are as avid about fighting each other anymore as opposed to fighting the group that truly is their enemy. I think they came to when they saw that Al Qaeda was killing their leaders. Another thing I'm sure you support.

Speak and understand what has been established to be the language of these United States or you must not want to really be here. Keep your accent, it gives you character, but be able to understand a question or ask directions in general conversation in this country. I'm the grandson of immigrants. We cherished our roots, sang German songs, and cooked Italian but we were always AMERICAN citizens.

If people want to be in this country so badly that they are breaking the law to get in, then why would they make it more difficult for themselves and frustrate the English speaking citizens? Differences are great and I appreciate peoples' cultures, languages, and heritages but this is an English-speaking country. If you want to live here, you need to learn how to communicate properly with the "natives."

You can't legislate your way to a universal religion or a political consensus, and they aren't far apart, those two.
Every time in history that it was attempted it has failed and provided fertilizer for what was already growing in the hearts of the people. THAT and not the sputterings of public speakers and inspired pastors is the Vox Populi, the Voice of the People. Only you can only hear it by listening.
When a migration begins because of starvation or military oppression or corruption or whatever, the causes are deep-seated and motivating enough to get people to leave their homes, cross oceans and look for hope in the unknown. And you think that imposing language regulations on them has any meaning?
Why not impose Marquis of Queensberry rules on two animals fighting to the death over a kill?

If folks want to speak in their "native tongue" it isn't the end of the world, but ENGLISH should be learned and used by every citizen of this country. In today's global market many people outside our country are learning English or already speak/read it to be able to compete in the business world more effectivly. It really angers me that those who want to live hear don't want to speak our language. Virginia, I hope you succede and that the other 49 states follow suit! Sue: Unfortunately you would benefit from some English spelling lessons yourself ("live hear" should be "live here", for example). Your point about the "global market" doesn't ring true. Unless most Virginians do business internationally, I think you must really be thinking of the *domestic* market.(Spanish speakers who do business globally are in the lucky position of being able communicate fluently in one of the world's most widely-spoken first languages.) I'm not saying that I disagree with your answer, but I don't think the thought process which got you there makes very much sense.
